We are the most popular nudist resort in Palm Springs. We have guests from around the world stay with us. We are the only nudist resort that consistently sells out midweek.

Here in Palm Springs, we really don't have any competition. Most people who enjoy nude recreation enjoy talking with other people and are very social. So they only stay at nudist resorts that are popular and busy which means our resort, The Terra Cotta Inn clothing optional resort and spa.

When we are full midweek, our guests if they are unable to change their vacation dates, will normally check into another hotel in town like a Marriott or Hilton and then see us each day for day use.

We also have guests who book time shares in town and stay with us for day use. And we have many Southern Californians who are just escaping for a day of sun, fun, and relaxation.

Day use is from 10am until 5pm. We have day use available 7 days a week.

It is only $25/couple on Monday thru Thursday and $30/couple on weekends. We even serve complimentary snacks at 4pm for our guests each day. Our day use is the best bargain in town.

We provide you with big fluffy pool towels so you don't have to go back with wet towels.

For those guests playing hookie from work, we have free wifi so you are more than welcome to bring your laptops.

We normally book only 5 couples/day for day use as we do not want to overcrowd our resort. So you do need to call in advance to make reservations.

We have a soda machine where soda is only $.50/can. You are also welcome to bring your own beverages. Coolers are welcome.

We use a local restaurant that serves lunches such as pizza, pasta, burgers, subs, salads, and lots of sides like fries, chicken wings, onion rings, etc. We take orders poolside and deliver you your lunch poolside everyday at 1pm. You can also bring your own lunch and snacks.

You are also more than welcome to book one of our many fantastic massages. Examiner.com recommended our massages as some of the best in Palm Springs. We were honored to be on their list of the top 8 spas in town. Naturally, we were the only nudist resort that was recommended. In the above photo you can see a hot rocks massage being performed.

Guinness World Record Skinny Dip at Terra Cotta Inn

Woo Hoo!!! Today skinny dippers across North America set a world record. Here at our resort, The Terra Cotta Inn clothing optional resort and spa we had 41 people in our pool at noon. Staying at our resort for overnight or for the day we had 55 people. So 41 out of 55 is a pretty good participation.

we set a record for most guests ever here at one time. Normally, we are full and we have 34 people (17 rooms). Then we book 5 couples for day use (44 people). And since we allow early check in and late check out, we will normally have 50 people at a time here. But, we took more guests than usual for day use, thus we had 55 people here.

We have a lot of teachers at our resort, especially in the summer as they all stay here for 1 or 2 weeks at a time. They don't want to be around kids, so we are the ONLY nudist resort in the US teachers really love as all other nudist resorts book families and all their noisy kids.

Teachers are terrified that they would have their picture on the web as they are afraid of losing their jobs. So none of the teachers were in the pool at noon.

We had our local newspaper, the Desert Sun cover the story at our resort. A photographer was here from the paper and took a picture of everyone in the pool.

We also had a reporter from Germany here covering the story. That was pretty cool.

16 more hours until the World Record Skinny Dip Saturday July 11th

All of our guests are so excited to set the Guinness record for skinny dipping tomorrow. They can't wait. And we're excited too.

The American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR) has created a marketing coup. All over the internet, on radio and TV stations, and in newspapers all you are reading and hearing about is The AANR/ Guinness Book of World Records skinny dipping record this Saturday July 11th.

Here is sunny Palm Springs, California our resort The Terra Cotta Inn clothing optional resort and spa is participating. We are full for this fun event.

We have been written about in our local newspaper the Desert Sun. Our local NBC TV affiliate, KMIR has also been to our resort to cover the pre-event.

Today the record setting skinny dipping story was a front page story in the USA Today newspaper weekend section.

As always, our guests comfort comes first at our resort. We have already turned away in excess of 100 couples wanting just to show up for the day.

I was interviewed on a LA area radio station earlier today. The DJ said "so everyone is invited to come down to Terra Cotta Inn tomorrow and jump in you pool naked at noon, right?" I said no, it will only be for hotel guests and 10 couples for day use. We are full. I don't want to over crowd my hotel with hundreds of people so that there is no space for guests to enjoy our beautiful facilities. It is supposed to be a fun event, not a cattle call."

The DJ said "come on, you honestly expect me to believe in this economy you're going to turn away paying customers that want to hang out at your resort for the skinny dip?" I said, "Yep your right. Would you want to be some place where there was no shade, wall to wall people, no pool chairs, etc. just because management was greedy and overbooked a special event? I want our guests to have fun which is why we are having an ice cream social to celebrate. You can't have fun if you are crammed in like a sardine."

The DJ said, "that's a pretty cool. Your place sounds like a nice place. I'll have to talk to my wife. I hope we'll go there someday." And I hope they do as we are very popular with first timers.

In most industries, they always say, bigger does not mean better. And it is especially true in the hotel industry. That is why for instance, we have the highest occupancy rates of ALL hotels in Palm Springs in the summer time. We are a 17 room inn, yet we will bring in almost 1.0% of the city of Palm Springs' bed tax in the summer, we are that busy and popular.

And this July, our occupancy rate is great. As an example, not only are our rooms sold out this weekend, we also only have 1 empty room this Wednesday and Thursday July 16th and 17th. One of the reasons we have such a nice resort and are such a great value is we have guests 7 days a week instead of just weekends like typical nudist resorts.

time.

Happy Fourth of July everyone

We just got back from the Palm Springs fireworks show. It was great. They always have a great show as the Indian casino is one of the major sponsors. It is a very big show for our sized town because of the Indian tribe. Thank you Agua Caliente Indians and others who donated to the show.

One of the reasons why topless bikinis are popular in Europe

A transplanted New Yorker writes about her experiences at a nude beach in Europe where she lives and why she prefers topless sunbathing.

"... ‘’La gente esta en pelotas,’’ were the first words out of my boyfriend’s mouth when he realized que estamos en una playa nudista (we were at a nude beach).

Neither of us cared but a warning would have been nice. I have seen and visited nude beaches before. I am not far from being nude myself when I go to the beach enjoying the European custom of going topless...

In the end it was like any other day at the beach... i also came to a few conclusions:

1. I prefer my man keep his package under wraps and only bare his paler bum to me.

2. Sand near my baby-making parts sounds rough

3. It is a pity to go stark naked when there so many fabulous options for beachwear."

She made 2 observations. One, she was taken to a nude beach and didn't know in advance.

We have men from time to time call saying they want to surprise their wife/girlfriend by booking our resort. Bad move. Women NEVER want to be surprised by going to a nudist resort or nude beach. They want to know and to voice their own opinion to their boyfriend/spouse.

The other comment she made is "so many fabulous options for beachwear." Younger European women are just as susceptible to the clothing industries advertising as American women are.

We have many European guests stay with us and they say a lot of younger women in Europe these days will only go topless sunbathing not nude sunbathing as they want to make a "fashion statement" with their bottoms.

They don't wear bottoms due to modesty. They may wearing thong bikinis that cover as much as dental floss would at the beach, yet that small strip of fabric costing maybe $90 is a fashion statement for them.

Once the women mature into their 30's, then they start going nude sunbathing.

Vote for nude sunbathing at San Onofre Nude Beach

As I have already mentioned, the California courts just rejected nudists attempts to keep San Onofre Beach, a nude beach, even though it has been in nude use for over 40 years.

Obviously, California has so much money that they can waste hundreds of thousands of dollars to litigate this. Further, San Onofre nude beach is the most inconvenient beach to go to (that's why it's a nude beach.) If it became a prude beach, no one would go to it and the state would miss out on lots of parking revenue.

San Onofre beach is right down the road by the town of San Clemente. The local paper there just printed a survey:

"Should nude bathing be allowed at a remote beach at San Onofre State Beach?"
