If you care about your skin - Salt water pools are the right choice for you

Skin is In! Especially at nudist resorts. Doctors call skin the body's biggest organ. Skin is considered an organ because it can absorb chemicals.

At the Terra Cotta Inn clothing optional resort and spa in sunny Palm Springs, California, we care about your skin.

We are proud to have converted our swimming pool to a salt water pool. We invested in it almost 5 years ago when our county said it was OK for commercial pools to convert to salt systems. We were the 2nd hotel in the whole Palm Springs area to invest in a salt water pool. 3 years ago, we converted our jacuzzi to a salt water system when it was allowed. We were the very FIRST hotel in the whole Palm Springs area to invest in a salt water jacuzzi.

We try to be the trend setter in amenities and a great value not just of nudist resorts, but for textile hotels in Palm Springs. This is one of the many reasons why we are known as the BEST VALUE nudist resort in the western US. MSNBC reported on this last November. And also why we have one of the highest occupancy rates of ALL hotels in the Palm Springs area.

When you are in a salt water pool or jacuzzi, the water is fantastic. You don't get all the chlorine itchiness that you get in pools that don't think enough of their guests comfort to invest in salt water systems.

Once you've been in a salt water pool, you'll never want to go into another pool or jacuzzi again unless it's salt water. Sort of like vacationing at a nice nudist resort. Once you've gone nude sunbathing, you'll NEVER want to wear a clammy, wet bathing suit again. Our salt water pool is one of the reasons why most nudists list us as their most favorite nudist resort.

With our pool water, your skin feels smooth, the water feels smoother, and you feel more refreshed. Your skin doesn't dry out and itch like chlorine pools. Your eyes are not irritated. The salt level in pools is very low. Like a tear drop not salty like the ocean.

Many of the upscale resort chains like Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons, etc. are converting to salt systems as their guest comfort really matters to them like us.

Why don't most hotels convert to salt water pools? It costs money in both the computer monitoring system and plumbing. For those hotels that have not gone salt water, obviously not spending money is more important to them than their guests comfort.

Some mineral water pool operators that have not invested in salt water pool systems like to say that their water is "natural." They don't want you to know that they use harsh chemicals to disinfect their water because everyone knows, once you have been in a salt water pool, you will NEVER want to go into a chlorine pool again.

Yes, so called "natural" mineral water pools are required to use chlorine, other halogens like bromine, or if they care about their guests comfort like us, they would invest in salt water systems to disinfect their pool and jacuzzi water. This is both a state and county requirement. No commercial pool can legally operate without disinfectant. Most pools that have not converted to salt water systems are using itchy chlorine which everyone dislikes.

Now salt water pools are NOT chlorine free pools. They have chlorine generators that computer control the right amount of disinfectant depending on the amount of people in the water, temperature, sunshine, etc. Because a computer is constantly monitoring the water, you don't get over or under chlorination like you do in regular chlorine pools.

So if you care about your skin and want to swim in fantastic water, The Terra Cotta Inn's salt water pool is the right choice for you.

European Sunbathing pools in Las Vegas are not the same as clothing optional resorts

We have had guests go to Las Vegas trying out their European style sunbathing pools thinking they will have the same experience as vacationing at our clothing optional resort, The Terra Cotta Inn in Palm Springs, California. They have nothing in common with nudist resorts.

We have been to 2 ourselves. What sets Las Vegas topless pools apart so much is the men way outnumber the women. So much so that many women are intimidated and do not go topless sunbathing. Another thing is they are very heavily drinking oriented as they make lots of money on drinks. One of the pools we were at was charging $15 for mojitos. And their beer and wine were way overpriced too.

On weekends, it is a major drunken party bash. Alcohol is flowing, girls are screaming, it is not a great place to relax. If you are looking for a frat party atmosphere, it is perfect, but not a romantic place for couples.

Finally, they have no shade unless you want to pay around $300 for cabanas. They haven't even invested in poolside misters or a salt water pool. We are a 17 room inn and we care about our guests and we invested in misters and pool umbrellas and salt water pool, but not Las Vegas topless pools. Those things don't make them money.

An Australian writer wrote for their big news organization news.au.com about his experience at the European style topless sunbathing pools in Las Vegas:

"Party like a Las Vegas rock star

...Even though sunlight burns my bleary eyes and a jackhammer pounds my brain, a broad smile covers my face.

My hangover fades as I soak in my surroundings...

...Bare it all

The hedonism continues the next day at Bare at The Mirage.

Adult pool bars that allow topless sunbathing are all the rage in Vegas...

A surprisingly small pool is the focus of the venue...

VIP cabanas are elevated above the water, perfect for starlets to lie back on the comfy sofas and see all the competing posers.

I soon realise why the pool is so small the beautiful people come to be seen beside it rather than in it.

...Elevated above the pool, feet up in the cabana, sun shining on my face and enjoying the parade of half-naked women walking by.

Have I just stumbled into my adolescent fantasy?

Surely it can't get better than this? That's when a waitress in a baby-blue bikini brings me my mojito..."

Living like a rock star the partying, the food, the booze,... man, it's exhausting."

Vegas expects the female guests to be the entertainment for the men like this Australian reporter. Some of the topless pools like the Rio have to hire topless dancers to topless sunbathe as they are so overwhelmed with men and so intimidating that no regular woman would ever feel comfortable topless sunbathing there.

So if you are a big time exhibitionist and love the attention of lots and lots and lots and lots of men, Las Vegas European style sunbathing pools are perfect for you to go around topless and shake it for all the boys.

Above is an ad for one of the topless pools in Vegas at a shopping mall.

If you are a regular woman who wants a nice romantic vacation experience and want to try topless or nude sunbathing, then come over to sunny Palm Springs, California only 280 miles from Las Vegas. Our resort is perfect.

Our resort is the most mainstream clothing optional resort in the US and is perfect for couples trying topless or nude sunbathing for the first time.

Even the company that published this article news.au.com from Australia this month picked us as one of the 10 best nudist resorts in the world. We were the only one for couples that they picked in the US

Topless swimmers win right to use city pools topless in Sweden

Swedish government officials get it right concerning women's rights to swim topless at city swimming pools.

For years women have been able to legally topless sunbathe on many Swedish beaches. But, starting in the 80's a backlash started growing against bare breasts. I guess maybe it is the Americanization of treating breasts as a sexual object instead of what they are mammary glands.

Now I hear from people who say that breasts should be covered because they are too sexy. But, at the same time people say some women's legs are very sexy. Should they be covered too? What about cleavage? Should that be outlawed? What about beautiful faces?

Eva Longoria is considered very sexy. Yet as far as I know she has never appeared topless. It is her face that makes her sexy judging by all the hair and cosmetic products she pitches. She we make pretty women cover their hair and faces like Muslim women do because they are sexy?

Here's the story:

"Women in Malmö have been given the right to bathe topless in the swimming pools of Sweden's third largest city.

The city's sports and recreation committee voted on Wednesday against a motion entitled: "Women with two-piece swimsuits ought to wear a top piece".

The committee eventually settled on the wording that "everybody should wear bathing suits" at Malmö pools but there is no requirement for women to cover their breasts...

But eventually the committee overcame its misgivings and the final decision was unanimous...

“Everyone is required to have a swimsuit when visiting the city’s indoor pools and if it doesn’t cover the upper body, that’s OK too.”...

"We don't define what bathing suits men should wear so it doesn't make much sense to do it for women. And besides, it's not unusual for men to have large breasts that resemble women's breasts," he said.

The Social Democrat politician feels the entire issue has been overblown.

“This is really not that big a problem,” he said...

Speaking to The Local at the time, Ragnhild Karlsson, 22, explained the womens' motives for swimming without bikini tops.

"It's a question of equality. I think it's a problem that women are sexualized in this way. If women are forced to wear a top, shouldn't men also have to?"

Outraged by what they regarded as discrimination, a group of women in southern Sweden made a show of solidarity by establishing the network, whose name translates as both "bare breasts" and "just breasts".
