No Lingerie Bowl this Year

This story just hit the wires:

"Sorry Lingerie Bowl fans, no game this year

The big game won't happen this year.

Not the Super Bowl.

Officials with Lingerie Bowl VI announced today that the Pay-Per-View event, which was set to feature models in their lingerie playing football during half-time of that other football game, will not take place.

Steve McMillen, a spokesman for the event, said Caliente, the clothing-optional resort in Lutz that was set to host the game on January 31st, breached a previously agreed upon 'clothing mandate' for participants and fans, forcing them to cancel them the game.

"The league will not place our fans, players, staff nor partners in a less then comfortable environment that would ultimately jeopardize the mainstream perception and reputation of the brand that so many have worked diligently over these past five years to build." McMillan said...

The controversial event was originally supposed to be played at a vacant lot in West Tampa on January 31st, but was moved to Caliente after residents there objected. Several players later quit, saying they hadn't been paid their full salaries and didn't sign up for an event at a nudist colony...

"While this is a disappointing development for the thousands of fans that were planning on attending the festivities and the millions set to watch the broadcast, we feel ultimately it is in the best interest of the league not to place ourselves in what some would consider a potentially negative environment.", McMillan said...

"We ran into conflicts with the Lingerie Football League wanting more areas of our resort restricted to clothing-required than we could accommodate.", said Angye Fox, Public Relations Director for Caliente..."

Well Caliente will go down in history as the only nude place where lingerie models, some of who have appeared nude in Playboy, say they won't play a football game at this nude place because of the "potentially negative environment." Oh well, another 15 minutes of fame for them.

More on the Tampa Lingerie Bowl

More about the lingerie models from the Lingerie Bowl looking down on nudists:

"Ok, here is the deal. I was part of their team. I quit because Horizon is lying to all of their players and not giving us the money that we are owed. I was not "let go" or "released". Horizon basically begged me last Friday not to quit. I am sorry to those of you that think that being nude and playing football in your lingerie is the same thing. Maybe you should look at our uniforms which are sports bras and boyshorts. Much more than athletes, such as volleyball players wear.

I love the way that people are so quick to compare us to strippers and nudists. Grow up. Get the facts. And get over it."

A lingerie model thinks nudists and strippers are pretty low life's. Hmmn. Looks like Caliente Nude Resort needed to do a better job in checking out the Lingerie Bowl promoters before hand. Or maybe they are believers in the old say, There's no such thing as bad publicity. I wonder if Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich and NY Governor Elliott Spittzer still believe in that expression too.

Maybe they should change the name of this event to the Toilet Bowl.

I remember here in Palm Springs a larger naturist resort that always loved getting any type of publicity no mater how damaging decided to have Ron Jeremy the male porn star at their resort. Not only did they host him, but they sent out a press release bragging that he was staying with them. It was even picked up by our local newspaper, The Desert Sun. Naturally that resort filed bankruptcy a number of years later..

Some Lingerie bowl players object to the game being at a nudist resort

Our industry has a pretty bad reputation when lingerie models object to playing the Lingerie Bowl at Caliente nude resort. Why do they object? They consider it beneath them.

Pretty pathetic that a woman who has posed nude in Playboy doesn't want to "play" football at a nudist resort.

The most ironic thing is Playboy TV did a special on our resort, The Terra Cotta Inn clothing optional resort and spa and it was one of the most tastefully shot, great examples of what it is like to vacation in Palm Springs at our nudist resort. It was so upbeat and positive on nudist resorts.

Well here's the most recent news on the Lingerie Bowl:

"Then remaining members complained about the venue, a "clothing-optional resort" north of Tampa where guests may or may not decide to wear pants as they wander the grounds playing volleyball, playing volleyball, swimming, or playing volleyball in the pool.

(This is all there is to do at nudist resorts. I know this from sad, unforgettable experience, having gone one weekend to a nudist resort as a dare taken out of boredom. You will never, ever erase the image of a couple in their 60’s hosing off their RV, each wearing nothing but flip-flops and a fine coating of benign melanomas earned from years of exposure to the sun.)

This choice of venue offends the fine sensibilities of some of the Lingerie Bowl players...

"I don't have anything against the lifestyle," Sky said, referring to the shift to a nudist resort. "But we as players were having a hard enough time dealing with and defending against the negative stigmas and stereotypes associated with the sport and playing attire before it was announced that we would be playing at a nudist resort."
This quote comes from quarterback Reby Sky, who posed nude for Playboy once. If your irony alarm is flashing double-time right now, consider this: Reby Sky was paid good money to take her clothes off, while nudists pay to have someplace where they can be naked. It's not the nudity she objects to; it's being on the showfloor with what she considers inferior goods..."

I guess we will have to wait and see whether or not Caliente nude resort regrets their decision to sponsor the Lingerie Bowl. They already book swinger groups at their resort, why not obnoxious models?
