Should Nipple piercings be banned at nudist resorts? - Give us your opinion

A woman named Felicity has started a nudist blog called, Young Naturists America. She just wrote a post about nipple piercings that I thought was pretty interesting.

Her blog post is titled: "Nipple Piercings and Dinosaurs."

She talks about Rock Lodge, NJ nudist club and how they have a policy that bans nipple jewelry.

From the Rock Lodge website: "Body Jewelry. At present, genital and nipple jewelry are not allowed. Prior to arrival at Rock Lodge, please ensure that any genital jewelry is removed and that any nipple jewelry is either removed or covered."

Felicity writes: "Those who supported the rule argued that nipple piercings don't belong in a family-oriented nudist club; that it draws attention to areas nudists aren't trying to draw attention to, i.e. the breasts; that nipple piercings are sexual and associated with the swinger atmosphere (ridiculous). On the other hand, proponents of change argued that nudism is about open acceptance of people as they are and allowing them to express themselves."

She further writes: "nipple piercings are becoming a lot more common these days among young people, and I have a few friends who have them who might say, "Rock Lodge is nice, BUT what's with this stupid rule?" I think the club would do better to cut out a rule that would exclude or discourage younger people from joining, those who'd keep the place alive."

We have guests from their 20's to 70's that stay with us. Although most people do not have pierced nipples, some do. We have had 20 year old guests and 70 year old guests with nipple piercings. We have never had a guest complain about the nipple jewelry.

Piercings have to do with fashion not morals. In the 1800's, it was fashionable for women to have pierced ears. Then in the Victorian era, it was considered risque and only poor or "loose" women had pierced ears as clip ons became the rage. As late as the 1950's, women were considered "slutty" if they had pierced ears. Then Hollywood changed it in the 1960's as female movie stars got pierced ears and no one gives it any thought after that.

I remember in the 1980's almost no nudist resorts allowed nipple piercings. then as pierced nipples started to slowly catch on, more and more nudist resorts like ours allowed them.

The same was true about shaving genitals. In the early 80's no one shaved, now most Americans, nudist and non nudists alike shave or trim their genital area.

Now of course all businesses have the right to make their own policies on the issue concerning nipple jewelry. But is banning it a smart business move?

Personally I see no big deal with nipple jewelry.

What's your opinion?

Sunday, this nudist blog cracked 50 users via keyword searches

My original nudist blog http://terracottainn.blogspot.com (NSWF) was receiving from 3,000-4,000 viewers per day due to google keyword searches until it got censored about a month ago.

Google decided all the popular nudist blogs that showed simple nudity needed to be censored with a warning page which meant that they could no longer be found by keyword searches. For instance yesterday, although my original blog had been up over 2 years with over 1000 posts, Zero people found that blog via keyword searches.

I started this blog about a month ago with no pictures showing nudity. Yes, it is weird writing a nudist blog not showing pictures of people enjoying life in the nude, but as readers here know, the US in the last 8 years has lost a lot of our basic freedoms found in the Bill of rights including freedom of press. So I had to change the pictures on this blog to no nudity.

Because this blog does not have nude pics, it passes the google censors. I was so excited, yesterday 50 people for the first time read this blog via google keyword searches. This blog is slowly crawling back up in popularity.

Going to nude beach and skinny dipping on a popular bloggers bucket list

A survey showed about 25% of Americans have been skinny dipping in mixed company. Many times people are too nervous to try a nude beach or to visit a nudist resort first, so they go skinny dipping at a secluded beach for their first topless or nude sunbathing experience.

There is a pretty popular non nudist blog called marcandangel.com that has an Alexa number in the low 50,000's. They just posted a bucket list of things they wanted to do before they had children. One is go skinny dipping and the other is go to a nude beach.

It is interesting that they note these are things they want to do before having kids. I think one of the reasons there aren't a real lot of nudists in their 30's is so many people have kids at that age and they don't want to take them to nudist resorts or nudist campgrounds.

In my opinion one of the bigger reasons nudism has not grown more is that nudist "leaders" insist an making nudism child friendly. If you look at the most popular nudist resorts in the Caribbean, they are all for couples. Our resort is for couples and we are the most popular nudist resort with vacationers in the western US.

This blog shows the thinking of non nudists. And they don't want to go to nude beaches with kids.

Here's the post:

"They say having children changes everything... Responsibility kicks in, compelling you to dedicate a significant portion of your time and attention to the best interests of the little ones. Combine this with the obvious physical and lifestyle limitations that come with age and it seems to me that there are several activities to check off the bucket list before settling down to start a family.

Here’s our list of 70 things to do before having children. For us, it’s simply about conquering as many life experiences as possible. We’re not quite there yet, but we’re getting closer.

40. Go skinny dipping in a large body of water at midnight.
67. Bare all on a nude beach"

My new Safe for Work Nudist Blog

As you probably know, google has now put warnings on my original nudist blog at http://terracottainn.blogspot.com Because of this, my blog posts are no longer being indexed by google. The new user traffic has really fallen off. Where before around 3-4,000 new viewers per day were finding my nudist blog by typing keywords into google, now no one can find it through keywords.

We have had so many first timers work up the courage to visit our nudist resort because of my blog, I just can't stop writing it. Plus, it is fun writing about nudism.

I had thought about setting up a 2nd blog. I see http://diaryofanudist.blogspot.com has gone with a safe blog. because so many people use google as their major search engine, blogspot is a create way for people to learn about nudism and clothing optional and nudist resorts.

So, I will be using both blogs. My original, will still have nudist pictures, pictures of my resort, etc., this new blog will no longer have frontal nudity.

I am sorry that I have to do it this way, but unfortunately in America a picture of a bare breast is still considered a scary site to many right wingers.

And don't forget, if you have always wanted to try topless or nude sunbathing, give us The Terra Cotta Inn clothing optional resort and spa a call at 800-786-6938. Visit our site at http://sunnyfun.com

Hope to see you in sunny Palm Springs!
