According to Facebook this photo is pornographic or sexual

My facebook account was deleted last week. So last Friday I opened a new account. This morning I woke up to a facebook message saying the above photo of Mary Clare working in front of a computer was deleted for violating facebook policies. It was deleted because it is either "pornographic or contains nudity, or is inappropriately sexual."

Now I posted other photos. One is from a strip club showing the two women. The other is from Playboy. Those photos have been up for months.

Mary Clare's photo does not even show cleavage as far as anyone could tell she could be wearing a bandeau top behind the computer.

Naturally, Facebook has no one to talk to as they have NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. And yes, us the members are customers. Facebook is no different than network TV. Yes, it is free, but the reason it is free is because us the customers give them our eyes for their advertising revenue. Without us, they have no value.

Of course it's not just nudists who are affected. FB has deleted breast cancer groups, breast feeding groups, art museum paintings, artists, etc. Each time the organization that had their their account deleted had to go to the press and create a stink. FB then reactivates the accounts and apologizes. To me having humans in a customer service department would make much more sense.

So Facebook, PLEASE start a customer service department so that silly issues such as this one or your deleting my account can be solved easily.

The US must make the showing of bare breasts not a reason to be fired

I swear the rest of the western world must laugh at America's hang ups with nudity everyday of the week. In France, President Nicolas Sarkozy's wife Carla Bruni has modeled in the nude. Only right wing extremists there tried to make an issue of it. The average French citizen didn't care. They care more if he is a good president.

Yet, here in America, a 20 year old cheerleading coach is fired because she tastefully posed nude for Playboy (which is a legal activity). And don't get my started on Janet Jackson's nipplegate.

Here's the story:

"Scorned Cheerleaders Rat Out Heroic Playboy Model

It's the story you've heard a million times before: Girls cut from cheerleading squad get revenge on coach by exposing her Playboy modeling activities to school, thus getting her fired...

What apparently uncovered the coach was when some girls didn't make the cheerleading squad because they had a few unexcused absences from school. Their parents then made copies of Christine and dropped the pictures on the principal's desk. Christine was then fired from her position at Casa Robles High School.

"And I was in shock that I knew the girls had seen it and knew about it," a parent told CBS13...

For a different take on this story, read this:

"Protesters Support Naked Coach

ORANGEVALE, CA - Carrying signs and chanting, "We want Carlie back!" We want Carlie back," five freshmen protested after classes let out at Orangevale's Casa Roble High School.

The girls who made the cheerleading squad said they support former cheerleading coach Carlie Beck. Administrators fired Beck when they learned she had posed nude for Playboy online...

Cheerleader Maisie Tyree said Beck "was nothing but nice to every single girl. She was nice to the girl that couldn't try out and it was totally wrong what her parents did. It was the only card they could pull..."

The girls said they didn't see anything wrong with Beck's pictures. They also said they had their parents' permission to demonstrate after school.

But Heather Giniella, the parent who told administrators about Beck, said she was outraged when she learned about Beck's pictures. Her daughter was barred from cheerleading tryouts...

Beck told school officials about her modeling. She said the situation has been difficult of her."

If I was the parent, I would be more concerned about my kids unexcused absences from classes, which appears to be why she was barred from being a cheerleader. Back in my day of both high school and college (Univ of Illinois), unexcused absences from classes did get kids kicked off of sports teams.

I would have also used this as a teaching opportunity for my kids. I would tell them that in the USA we have many personal freedoms. Some people chose to practice these freedoms by modeling nude. She could then say why she disagreed with Carlie Beckers choice of modeling for Playboy, but then back Americans rights to freedom of speech.

Sadly because of people like the school administrators and spoiled kids and parents, people are terrified of telling their friends that they love nude vacations and recreation, let alone posing for Playboy. I would bet the #1 occupation of our guests is education. And all of our teachers are TERRIFIED because of closed minded (or is it clothes minded) bigots.

True the US is making small steps to accepting nudity, for instance a number of years ago I was elected the President of the Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce and I was the campaign treasurer for one of our city council members. My owning a successful nudist resort was actually a plus as people saw me as a successful entrepreneur.

And for those people who say it is immoral for Carlie Christine Beck to appear nude, at the turn of the century it was considered immoral for women to show a bare ankle, let alone bare legs or arms. And in the Middle East they still think bare ankles are immoral. Should we turn back the clock 100 years just because some people are so insecure with themselves and their own bodies?

And for the record, both Mary Clare and I have appeared nude on Playboy TV. They are a great company to work with.

So this year, make it the year you try a fun vacation. Stay at our resort, The Terra Cotta Inn clothing optional resort and spa. We are the most mainstream nudist resort in America and perfect for couples trying topless or nude sunbathing for the first time.

Playboy nudist resorts and nudists

In February, Playboy TV did a show at our resort the Terra Cotta Inn clothing optional resort and spa. They picked us as the BEST nudist resort in the US. To see the NSFW version of this post go to: Click here for NSWF Playboy blog post version

They featured us as they wanted the most mainstream nudist resort in the US. And it helped that we cater to first timers. They did not want a wild place, but a place where you could relax and have fun in the nude. And of course they didn't want kids like you would find at typical nudist resorts.

Playboy also picked us because we were a clothing optional resort. Playboy knows that to be successful, you have to have a nudist resort that is friendly for women. Women in particular are nervous their first time. Many think they will ease into nude sunbathing by going topless first (and some do). However, our experience is once women are here, they feel so safe and relaxed, they immediately go nude for their whole vacation. However, if we were nudity mandatory like at most nudist resorts in the US, the women never book with us.

Playboy has done a lot for promoting the freedom of enjoying life in the nude. They are a double edge sword. Yes, they pander to men and have made many woman feel insecure because they are not photo shopped like the models, yet they also give the message that it is OK to enjoy life in the nude and be free.

Overall, I think Playboy has helped the nudist movement more than hurt it. Also years ago there was a story at about Paradise Lakes in Playboy magazine. The owner said that PR piece brought in more first timers than any other pr piece they had had at that point.

Finally, those who have seen the Playboy TV show about our resort have said it is the most wholesome and well done nudist show they ahve ever seen. Playboy and their producer Kira reed did a great job. Kira reed has actually been a friend of ours for many years.

Here is a story about Playboy:

They had a couple stay at our resort, where it was their first

"Playboy will see you now

...Just as if she were visiting her dentist or pet groomer, a lady must make an appointment to attend a Playboy casting call. Potential nudists generally sign up online and pay about $50 to secure their time in front of the lens. The audition fee turns out to be a wise move in terms of efficiency. Jeff Cohen, a VP for Playboy Special Editions and the man at the wheel of the Jacksonville casting, explained the price is just steep enough to weed out no-shows and ensure a more dedicated talent pool. As in, if American Idol ever wanted to cut those early-season train wreck episodes, they could start charging $50 to audition.

... Most have traveled great distances for a chance to cross "pose for Playboy" off their bucket lists. Christine Placona, a porcelain darling with her super-blond hair done up country like Reese Witherspoon's in Walk the Line drove up from south of Palatka. Girls report from Tampa, Virginia, Georgia and Mississippi.

No matter their origins, all ladies are clearly nervous, and it's the only time I've seen 20 attractive girls sit silently in a room, a scenario I never would have imagined possible. The clothed ladies hunker over paperwork, while the robed ones fidget, flip through the girlie mags from the goody bags and fuss with makeup.

The other common factor is the answer given when I ask girls what inspired them to come out and pose: It's been a dream since I first found my dad's stash when I was (insert age). Kelli Motes, a WingHouse girl from Bradenton, puts the cutest spin on the response: "I've been looking for the bunny on the cover since I was 13."

Cohen and I opined at length about why first impressions of Playboy are so powerful. He's heard thousands of women over his decades with Playboy cite their first encounter and deem it a life-changing one...

... "Wow! That was so much easier than I thought it would be!" is the go-to summation from ladies leaving their session.

It is interesting where the women said posing was life changing. We have found first time nudists say the say thing. So many women for the first time in their lives have said they now feel comfortable with their bodies and who they are. It seems posing for Playboy and vacationing at a nudist resort have a lot in common.

Marks and Spencer supports spokesmodels decision to appear nude in Playboy Magazine

Marks and Spencer is a popular department store in England. They hired model Lily Cole to promote some of their clothing. Ms. Cole decided to to a 14 page shoot for Playboy's French magazine.

Where you would expect an American company to be in an uproar and maybe even fire their model for appearing in Playboy, Marks and Sparks as they are called, defends Ms. Cole's decision to appear nude in Playboy.

Here is the story:

"M&S Defend Lily's Naked Playboy Shoot

Marks and Spencer have defended Lily Cole after her naked shoot for the French Playboy...

"Lily Cole is a popular, high-profile model who is very much in demand," a spokesperson for the brand told Sky News. "This is one the key reasons we have chosen to work with her. It's entirely her own choice as to what other work she accepts and we would not wish to interfere with her career."

Cole's 14-page spread was perhaps a surprise choice for the intellectual model, who is studying at Cambridge this year. She insists however, that she took on the shoot in the name of art.

In an interview which accompanies the photos, the 20-year-old insists: "Nudity has always existed in art and I think that, given the right conditions, it doesn't necessarily 'debase' anymore than it celebrates or represents the human body."

Terra Cotta Inn to be featured on Playboy TV August 30th

Playboy TV filmed at The Terra Cotta Inn this spring. They did a fantastic job of showing what it is like to vacation at the best nudist resort in the US, our resort The Terra Cotta Inn clothing optional resort and spa.

The show is very tastefully produced. Playboy makes it very clear that nudist resorts are not sex resorts. They make it clear that nudist resorts are fun places where you get to enjoy life and socialize with others while naked. Playboy tells viewers that nudist resorts are NOT swinger resorts.

The show is called 69 Sexy Things to Do Before you Die. And of course one of the 69 sexy things to do is to vacation at our nudist resort. We are very proud of being featured by Playboy. This show comes right after tripadvisor.com picked us as one of the 10 best clothing optional resorts in the world this July. Here is the schedule this week, so you can watch the show: http://www.playboytv.com/schedule/2008/8/18/show/69-Sexy-Things-2-Do-Before-You-Die-012-%28
Now I do have to say, we normally do not have Playboy models lounging around our resort everyday like on the show, so that part is not quite realistic. However, like a regular hotel, we do have guests from their 20's to 70's vacation with us all the time. And what is nice is many of our guests who are from their 30's to 60's volunteered to be filmed by Playboy, so you can see all ages at our resort in a few of the scenes.
If you have always wanted to try topless or nude sunbathing, we are considered the most mainstream nudist resort in America. Give us a call at 800-786-6938 for more information or to make reservations. Visit our site at http://sunnyfun.com Hope to see you in sunny Palm Springs!
