Sex and Porn are some fo the top search terms for kids

Kids are growing up fast and society is going to have to take their new "values" into consideration in passing future laws.

Here's the results from a recent Symantec study.

"Porn Among Top Search Terms for kids

In a somewhat worrying piece of news, security firm Symantec has released the top search terms by kids in 2009. Topping the lists: “YouTube”, “Google”, “Facebook”, “sex” and “porn”.

While that result set might not be surprising in the teen search rankings, it’s interesting to note that “porn” ranks 4th in the “7 and under” category, receiving more searches than “Club Penguin” and “Webkinz()“. Meanwhile, “sex” is fourth for teens and tweens alike...

...it’s also a timely reminder that kids are growing up fast these days.

In Europe, where sex and nudity is not as repressed as it is here in the USA, I wonder what keywords the children over there would be looking up.

New study shows conservatives are the biggest consumers of online porn

Why are conservatives always the most outspoken against so called "sins" like pornography, but they are also the biggest hypocrites.

A few examples are TV Evangelist Jim Bakker had affairs. Jimmy Swaggart used prostitutes. Ted Haggart used male prostitutes. The Tony Alamo Christian ministries headquarters was raided in 2008 by the FBI on child pornography charges.

And lets not forget politicians. Larry Craig the Republican Idaho senator was arrested in Minneapolis airport for soliciting for a male prostitute. Bob Bauman conservative republican from Maryland was arrested for soliciting a teenage male prostitute. Rep.Jon Hinson from Mississippi, busted for having male sex in a restroom. And don't forget Mark Foley from Florida. He's poster boy for everything wrong with conservatives trying to legislate morality.

Now a recent study shows the most conservative states are the biggest consumers of online porn.

Here's the story:

"Porn in the USA: Conservatives are biggest consumers

Americans may paint themselves in increasingly bright shades of red and blue, but new research finds one thing that varies little across the nation: the liking for online pornography...

However, there are some trends to be seen in the data. Those states that do consume the most porn tend to be more conservative and religious than states with lower levels of consumption, the study finds.

"Some of the people who are most outraged turn out to be consumers of the very things they claimed to be outraged by," Edelman says...

The biggest consumer, Utah, averaged 5.47 adult content subscriptions per 1000 home broadband users; Montana bought the least with 1.92 per 1000...

Eight of the top 10 pornography consuming states gave their electoral votes to John McCain in last year's presidential election – Florida and Hawaii were the exceptions. While six out of the lowest 10 favoured Barack Obama.

Old-fashioned values
Church-goers bought less online porn on Sundays – a 1% increase in a postal code's religious attendance was associated with a 0.1% drop in subscriptions that day. However, expenditures on other days of the week brought them in line with the rest of the country, Edelman finds.

Residents of 27 states that passed laws banning gay marriages boasted 11% more porn subscribers than states that don't explicitly restrict gay marriage...

States where a majority of residents agreed with the statement "I have old-fashioned values about family and marriage," bought 3.6 more subscriptions per thousand people than states where a majority disagreed. A similar difference emerged for the statement "AIDS might be God's punishment for immoral sexual behaviour..."

I think what this study shows is government should stop trying to legislate morality. They do a terrible job and people like their "sins" and "vices."

Besides, what is porn? The above photo shows very suggestive sexual statues. Yet, they are at a Hindu temple. Are they religious or pornography. Only conservatives know since they know what is "best" for everyone else.
