In many parts of the US, government authorities are terrified of public nudity. I guess government officials think that if someone sees a bare boob, it will remind them that most elected officials are also boobs at heart.
In Seattle, there is a neighborhood called Fremont, where for the last 21 years they have been having a fun parade welcoming summer. It is clothing optional.
And if you lived in Seattle, you would welcome summer too as their weather is not always the nicest for nude recreation. For instance the #1 home state of our guests is the state of Washington. Canada would be number 2, and California number 3.
We have the out of state and out of country guests vacation with us because we are the only nudist resort in the Western US that caters to couples on vacation.
Here is the story:
"Fremont welcomes summer with nudity, parade
SEATTLE - Hundreds of people - some wearing bizarre costumes and some wearing their birthday suits - turned out for an annual tradition celebrating the beginning of summer in Seattle's Fremont District.
Once again, clothing was optional in the Fremont parade. People used their freedom of expression to go down the parade route in everything from home-made costumes, to body paint, to nothing at all...
The couple agreed that the parade is different from all others in the Seattle, because of the "the nudity, the light-heartedness of it ... the freedom of expression."
"It's fun because nobody hassles you, and you just get to have fun," said the groom. "That's what summer is all about - like being a little kid."
Others who showed up to watch the parade say they love how the city lets people express themselves and have fun.
"The people here are a fun group of people to be around. ... The energy is awesome," said Laura Tritz of West Seattle.
It was the 21st year for the parade, and the 38th year for the community fair that coincides with it."

Happy Naked Hiking Day Today
Today, Sunday is Naked Hiking Day. We have a lot of guests who go to Joshua Tree National Park which is just 1 hour north of Palm Springs to go nude hiking. We have some guests who specifically went there today to nude hike because of today being naked hiking day.
Our local newspaper wrote about naked hiking day. They asked some local people in our area if they would go hiking and they said no. Our local paper should have asked guests at our resort and they would have had a few people saying yes.
Here is the story:
"Prepare to cover your eyes today as nudist across the country plan to shed their clothes for a naked hike.
The annual tradition – Naked Hiking Day – coincides with the summer solstice, which happens this year to fall on Father’s Day.
Local hikers, however, say a nude hike in the desert heat today is unlikely...
...The Hiking Naked in Palm Springs group has attracted as many as 35 hikers and has been hiking around the Coachella Valley for more than six years, Gilbert said...
“We’re aware it happens on the summer solstice day,” McCorkle said. “With through-hikers — people who hike the trail all in one season — it’s kind of like an unofficial tradition for them.”
Local law enforcement agencies say skinny dipping poses more of a problem in the valley than naked hiking.
“It’s new to me,” said Pat Pilcher, a ranger at Joshua Tree National Park.
Valley nudists, Gilbert said, prefer the isolated hikes in Mecca Hills where Ladder Canyon is tucked away.
...Nude-hiking advocates say they aren’t out to startle people. Nudity, they say, enhances one’s appreciation of nature.
Many nude hikers go out of their way to avoid being seen choosing to hike during the week or early hours when it is likely they will have the trail alone.
Hiking boots, sunscreen and insect repellent are all recommended, even if hiking in the buff.
“The thing you have to worry about this time of year is the snakes are out,” said Ben Guitron, Indio Police Department spokesman."

I normally find our guests will drive to a remote area of the Joshua Tree and hike for an hour or so in the nude to say that they have done it and then come back to our resort to relax and have fun.
There are no rules against nudity on Federal lands. My understanding from reading on this issue is a ranger will just ask people to dress if they are seen nude hiking and are not lewd. Of course any particular national park service ranger may not know the law and issue you a citation. This is one of the reasons why people hike in more remote areas.
