Nudists all know that we are the nude vacation destination of choice out west. We have couples from all over the US, Canada, England, Australia, Mexico and lots of other countries stay here. Which is why Terra Cotta Inn is Unique. Year round we are popular 7 days a week instead of just weekends like typical nudist resorts.

And of course first timers love our place as we're the most mainstream nude sunbathing resort in the US and as our local newspaper the Desert Sun says, we're perfect for couples trying topless or nude sunbathing for the first time.

We have one of the highest repeat guest rates in the travel industry at over 80%. Lodging Magazine says if a vacation resort gets a 15% repeat guest rate, they are doing really well. Sandals Resorts brags that they have almost a 35% repeat guest rate. So to be an 80% repeat rate, it is really cool.

And what is so nice about Terra Cotta Inn is because we are a vacation resort instead of just another weekend getaway like everyone else, we have different people here all the time. So it doesn't get cliquish here like it would at places that cater mainly to locals.

Airfare Sale on Air Canada to Palm Springs

I occasionally get e-mails from Southern Californian readers asking why do I post so many airfare sales from Canada to Palm Springs. But then, when I inform them that we book more room nights year round from Canadians, than we do Californians, they all go "wow we didn't realize that. You're right we always see lots of Canadians at your resort."

Many Southern Californians will pay maybe $5000 for a week in Mexico or the Caribbean, and not always at a nudist resort either (which can cost even more). When you ask them how was your vacation, they all say "all right". When we say why don't you save money and vacation with us like everyone else since you love it here on weekends, we get "Palm Springs is only a weekend getaway for Southern Californians. We can't brag at work if we take a week long Palm Springs vacation."

So here it is, Southern Californians will go vacation to parts of the world where it rains so they can brag about their out of country vacation, yet ignore one of the best nudist resorts in the world in their own back yard.

It is the weirdest phenomenon, the whole world wants to vacation in Palm Springs, and people from around the world fly here, but it is the hardest thing to get a Southern Californian to drive 90 minutes to spend a vacation with us. Go figure...

About 15% of our guests come from Canada. All of our guests love our Canadian guests.
This October ever day we have been averaging about 30-60% Canadians and maybe only 1 or 2 smart Southern Californian guests here. The rest of the guests have been from all over the US, England, South Africa, France, Germany, Sweden, Vietnam, and a few other countries if I check my reservation book.

When is it the best time to vacation in Palm Springs?

We get the above question every day. And I say the answer depends on where you live and how long you want to get away.

If you live up north in Canada, or the northern US, the best time to getaway is when your weather is the worst. December, January, and February. I always think it is funny having someone from Chicago, New York, Canada, etc. pick March, April, or May for their winter/spring vacations. It is finally getting warm in those months. Getaway now in January and February when the weather is bad at your home. You will enjoy vacation all the more.

Now if you live in the south, I always say getaway in the summer. Come to Palm Springs in June, July, August, Sept, Oct, or November. That's your rainy, tropical storm, hurricane season. Why risk a rained out vacation in Florida, Mexico, or the Caribbean in those months. We have lots of Floridians and Texans book their summer vacations with us as they hate rain on their vacations.

If you are from Southern California, I always say, getaway midweek on Sunday thru Thursday nights for your quick 2 or 3 night breaks (or book a week like so many other people as you won't find a more fun nudist resort anywhere else with our great weather).

We have lots of Southern Californians who want to come out on weekends. I think why fight the traffic, go to crowed restaurants in Palm Springs, deal with crowds on weekends, etc. Instead take a few days off midweek. Use your vacation days to take time off work. All Southern Californians that have come here midweek, never come back on weekends again (unless we have a special event) as they realize how much more relaxing their time is midweek in Palm Springs versus weekends. Also they say they can use weekends for household chores and midweek for themselves enjoying Terra Cotta Inn.
