Come to Terra Cotta Inn's FREE naked BBQ this weekend Jan 13th - 15th - It's Summer in January!

Summer is never out of fashion in Palm Springs, California the sunniest city in the US. For instance in ALL of 2011, Palm Springs only had 2.11 inches of rain the whole year. That's one of the many reasons why nudists and naturists in the know, will only stay in Palm Springs at Terra Cotta Inn.

The weather has been fantastic in Palm Springs, California. We have been in the 80's all week long and we are 100% sunny. And sunshine is predicted for the coming week and weekend. Many people don't realize that official temperatures are taken in the shade, so it feels even warmer in Palm Springs sun.

Since it is so sunny and so warm and this coming weekend is a 3 day holiday weekend for many guests, we decided instead of waiting until summer to throw a summer BBQ, we'll have one now to celebrate our summer in January.

And what's the best way to go to a BBQ? Naked of course!

We'll have hotdogs, hamburgers and all the yummy side dishes that you expect like cole slaw, potato salad, salad, and more.

And the Palm Springs film festival runs all week long until January 16th. Who knows, you may end up sitting next to a Hollywood star at a screening.

Now is the perfect time for a fun, romantic, unique vacation experience.

Never been to a clothing optional resort before? No problem. We are the most mainstream nudist resort in the US and are perfect for couples trying topless or nude sunbathing for the first time!

Just this fall AOL Travel, UK wrote "Discover our picks of the BEST Clothing Optional resorts around the world." They recommended Terra Cotta Inn as the ONLY nude sunbathing resort in the US catering to couples. Pretty cool.

It's nice when the LA Times, or Los Angeles Magazine, or Palm Springs Life Magazine pick us as the best place to stay in Southern California, but this is even cooler when AOL Travel England recognizes us also as the best place for couples.

And of course we're the best not because of being snobby. We're the best because we have the best guests. They have so much fun and are so friendly and wonderful.

AOL Travel also wrote about Terra Cotta Inn nudist resort that we "are considered one of the best value nudist resorts in the world." No reason to overpay for a nude vacation any more.

We are an affordably luxurious nudist resort. And don't forget all January long, we have our annual room sale of stay 1 night, the 2nd is 50% off on Sunday through Thursday nights. And no hidden resort or day fees here.

Here's the lineup:

"Palm Springs International Film Festival announces 2009 lineup

The 20th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival will screen 210 films from 73 nations Jan. 8-19, it was announced today.

The screenings include 77 premieres — 14 world, 48 U.S. and 16 North American. Also, 50 of the 67 films submitted for Best Foreign Language Film Oscars will be screened.

The festival will begin on Tuesday, Jan. 6 with the annual Awards Gala...

The Joel Hopkins film about a struggling New York jingles writer and a lonely British bureaucrat stars Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson, who each received Golden Globe acting nominations in the music or comedy categories.

“Over the course of its first 19 years, this Festival has always celebrated creative expression and embraced a diversity of visions and viewpoints,” said Festival Director Darryl Macdonald. “Happily, we are reaching our 20th anniversary milestone at a time when a new generation of filmmaking talent is making its debut on the world stage, with about one-third of this year’s film selections by first or second-time directors. Just as this year’s line-up brings the promise of new voices to infuse the cinema with a renewal of its creative energy, the Festival itself is undergoing a reincarnation of sorts, with new staff, a fresh sense of purpose where the industry is concerned, and a clear eye to the future of the art form.”...

GALA SCREENINGS:

In addition to the Opening Night Gala, the festival will hold four international galas with special screenings celebrating festival programming showcases, including:
20th Anniversary Gala: “$5 a Day” (U.S.). Marking its U.S. premiere, the film is a tale of a son forced to reunite with his con-artist father during a cross-country odyssey. Directed by Nigel Cole, it stars Christopher Walken, Allesandro Nivolo, Amanda Peet and Sharon Stone.

Gala: “Alien Trespass” (U.S.). A world premiere, directed by R.W. Goodwin and starring Eric McCormack, Jenni Baird, Dan Lauria and Robert Patrick. Set in 1957, a fiery object from space hurtles into a California desert mountaintop. A murderous creature — the Ghota, bent on destroying all life forms on the planet — escapes from the flying saucer. A benevolent alien, Urp, inhabits the body of Ted Lewis (Eric McCormack) — a local astronomer — and with the help of Tammy, a waitress from the local diner, sets out to save mankind.

The Gay!La: “Chef’s Special” (Spain). Directed by Nacho Velilla, a cook ditches dreams of Michelin stardom to manage a small barrio eatery. Javier Cámara, Lola Dueñas, Fernando Terjero and Benjamin Vicuña star.
Closing Night Film: “The Burning Plain” (U.S.). A U.S. premiere and directorial debut of award-winning screenwriter Guillermo Arriaga is the layered story of a self-destructive woman and two intertwined families. The film stars Charlize Theron, Kim Basinger, Jennifer Lawrence and Joaquim de Almeida.

PREMIERES:
The festival will offer 77 premieres of highly anticipated films showcasing the diversity of international cinema...

AWARDS BUZZ:

As part of the Awards Buzz program, a special jury of international film critics will review the 50 Oscar submissions being screened to award the FIPRESCI Award for Best Foreign Language Film of the Year, Best Actor and Best Actress.

Palm Springs Film Festival January 6th to 19th, 2009

Palm Springs is the coolest city for nudists to vacation in. We have such a celebrity history. Even our resort, The Terra Cotta Inn clothing optional resort and spa was once a celebrity resort where Marilyn Monroe, Spencer Tracy, Frank Sinatra, Desi & Lucy, and many more celebrities used to stay.

Every January, there is the annual Palm Springs Film Festival which is open to the general public. Last year 122,000 people saw the films.

What is so nice about the Palm Springs film festival is the general public is invited to attend the red carpet galas for the price of an admission.

We have many guests who come here to see the films. They relax, nude sunbathing all day long and see the movies at night. Our guests are always telling us the celebrities that they have seen. And the Palm Springs film festival is much more informal than for instance the Canne film festival in France because Palm Springs is considered the "back yard" of Hollywood, so many directors, producers, actors, and actresses attend the movies even if they themselves aren't in any of the films.

This year the festival will be better tahn ever as it is the 20th anniversary of the Palm Springs Film Festival.

Here is the information about this years show:

"Palm Springs film fest shuffles schedule, to hold gala early in week

Announcements about tickets going on sale for the 20th Palm Springs International Film Festival to be held Jan. 6-19 include the surprise that the Black Tie Awards Gala will not be on the first Saturday of the festival as it has in the past but on Jan. 6. The opening night film will be on Jan. 8.

The awards gala is the most star-studded event of the festival, which screens hundreds of independent and foreign films. In past years, honorees attending have included Brad Pitt, John Travolta, Nicole Kidman, Charlize Theron, Kate Winslet, Cate Blanchett and Samuel L. Jackson.

Mary Hart will return for the sixth year to host the awards show.

"Opening the festival with the gala we thought would be an exciting way to launch the 20th anniversary," said Harold Matzner, chairman of the Palm Springs International Film Festival Society. "The thinking is the awards show generates a tremendous amount of publicity and attention, and opening with it will create more excitement and coverage..."

"This awards show... It's very well supported... "It has tremendous star power. It's mind-boggling..."

"The festival has grown every year for last eight years. The awards gala is covered by every nationally-syndicated entertainment show," he said. "The festival is hot, the awards gala is hot and it will have a very strong show."

In 2008, a record 122,000 people attended the festival. Some popular passes sell out before the festival opens.

Tickets to the awards gala are $350 or $1,000 for VIP seating. Tables for 10 are $3,500-$15,000.

Tickets to the opening and closing night galas are $50, as are Reel Deal Six Packs (six screenings).

Silver passes are $275 for screenings Jan. 9-13 or Jan. 14-18. Platinum passes are $400 for guaranteed priority seating Jan. 9-19, excluding opening and closing nights and parties.

For high rollers, the Concierge Pass at $1,500 gets reserved seating. The all-inclusive Benefactor pass at $2,500 includes gala events along with reserved seating.

Individual ticket sales will open to the public Dec. 30. For tickets/passes call 760-778-8979; for information call 760-322-2930 or go to http://www.psfilmfest.org "
