Seattle sets record for not cracking 75F

Last year started a trend. Although we are located in California, the #1 home state of our guests last year for the first time was Washington. Canada was #2, and California #3.

We have a room available tomorrow on Friday May 15th. You can check in as early as 10am tomorrow and stay until 5pm On Saturday. We are full on Saturday the 16th.

Now we have probably had at least 400 calls for the Memorial Day weekend. That happens every year as so many people key in on holiday weekends, but the guests booking their week long vacations and planning ahead on holidays get the rooms. Palm Springs had the best Nudist Weather this January in the US

Readers of my blog know that I HATE weather.com For some reason they always predict our weather to be way worse than what it really is. People in the tourism industry in Palm Springs always joke that Florida pays off weather.com to make people who don't know any better want to go to Florida, when they should be coming to Palm Springs for our fantastic weather instead!

For instance this month of January, weather.com predicted our weather probably 5 degrees colder than it was on average and predicted that we would have rain maybe 30%of the time. (There was no rain in January).

One of the good things about weather.com is they are truthful in telling us what the weather was like after the fact. So if they predicted 75F and rain and the weather
was 80F and sunny that day, they will be truthful the next day.

Tampa is the home of more nudist resorts than any other part of the US. Luckily for us, Mary Clare was born in Tampa. We knew how their weather just does not compare to the Palm Springs sunshine. That is why our resort is in Palm Springs. Unfortunately, so many people believe weather.com and think Tampa has better weather than Palm Springs so they end up going there in January and February and don't have as nice of a vacation compared to if they had vacationed with us in sunny Palm Springs.

I have here the weather for both cities this month. Here it is:

Let's compare. Palm Springs had 9 days of 80F or above in January. And 16 days at 75F and above. Zero days of rain and the 2 days where it said we were cloudy. We were sunny for about 5 hours on each of those two "cloudy' day.

Tampa ONLY had 1 day above 80F in January and ONLY 9 days at 75F or warmer. Also Tampa had 8 cloudy rainy days.

And if you look at Miami, they only had 4 days of 80F or above and 12 days where they had rain and clouds.

Now another thing people never remember is official temperatures are ALWAYS taken in the shade, so in a sunny city like Palm Springs it always will feel much warmer than it really is compared to a cloudy state like Florida.

Palm Springs is the sunniest city in America

Here is a photo of the Palm Springs sunshine today. I took this picture about 30 minutes ago. If you looked at http://weather.com you will see that it says our current weather is mostly cloudy.

Where can I get a job at weather.com? Obviously, you don't have to be right with your predictions. Just make up any old bad weather and throw it up on your site. For instance they said yesterday would be a high of 80F. We were 85F.

The reason I bring this up is we just had a couple from Southern California cancel for tomorrow. They said they don't want to come out nude sunbathing because it is cloudy.

As much as I tried to convince them otherwise, they still didn't believe me. I even told them look at http://psview.com where they can see our current city weather which shows sunny, not mostly cloudy like weather.com printed. They still wouldn't change their minds as they said they were already bummed out by the cloudy weather forecast.

Don't the people at weather.com care that they are ALWAYS so inaccurate? Obviously not. And there bad predictions do affect businesses as there are still people in the world who aren't smart enough to realize a lot of weather.com's predictions are not right.

So whenever weather.com predicts bad weather for Palm Springs, NEVER believe them. We are the sunniest city in the US and they love predicting bad weather for us. They predict we are so cloudy and rainy you would think we were located in rainy Florida instead of sunny Palm Springs.

Back to Palm Springs after Vacation

Mary Clare and I were in Hawaii celebrating my mom's birthday for a week. We are now back to work, so you will be seeing posts here again.

We had nice weather in Oahu, but not quite as nice as Palm Springs. We had rain 3 of the 7 days and two of the days it rained all day long.

Palm Springs has been having fantastic weather this fall. They said on our local weather station, this will be the 2nd warmest October in recorded Palm Springs history. We have been averaging in the low 90's, sunny, and low humidity all month long. I feel sorry for people that vacationed in other cities this fall and missed out on the best nude sunbathing weather in Palm Springs history.
