Who are adult nudists? Why they're everyone!

It is the job of comedians to make fun of groups, races, politicians or themselves. As the late George Carlin said, "I think it's the duty of every comedian to find out where the line is drawn and to cross it deliberately."

Some jokes you know who created them like George Carlin's, "Most people work just hard enough not to get fired and get paid just enough not to quit."

Other jokes like "I don't approve of political jokes. I've seen too many get elected," have been told by so many comedians in making fun of politicians, no one knows who said it first.

Well another inaccurate joke that has been around for a long, long time is "Why is it that most nudists are people you don't want to see naked." Even George Carlin used it.

Now all nudists know this is just a bad joke making fun of us and is so untrue. Sadly though, non nudists actually believe it and sadly so do many in the media.

A Denver website wrote a couple of days ago: http://blogs.westword.com/showandtell/2011/07/nude_day_bastille_day.php "It's one of life's most bitter ironies that, as a general rule, the people most likely to be nudists are the people you least want to see nude -- and so it was with a collective sigh of relief from the pants-wearing world that Nude Recreation Week wrapped up yesterday..." Not to flattering of nudists or the world of nude recreation.

However, the reality, as all nudists know, is completely different. Nudist adults are all ages from their 20's to their 80's. They come from all ethnic backgrounds. They are all sizes from tall to short to average height. They are thin, to average to plus sized weights. They are Democrats, Republican, Libertarians, and non voters. They are pretty, average, and plain in looks. Nudists are all professions and all religions oe no religion. They are more highly educated than average Americans though. Thus, they are you and me.

As a perfect example, above is a photo of Patty, the manager at The Terra Cotta Inn. She is in her 20's and is Latina. Proving nudists are all ages and proving the writer did not do his research.

Also nudists will tell you it is not the outer beauty of people that matters. It is the inner beauty.

Any one who is a nice, happy, friendly person easily could be a nudist.

Sadly what happens when the media thinks they are being funny by making fun of nudists is they are actually driving people away from trying nude recreation.

A nude vacation is one of the best, most fun vacations you can ever have. But with the American media portraying nudists as aging hippies, they do a great disservice to all Americans and first timers by not reporting the news accurately.

So if you are in the media and are writing a story about nudism, The American Association for Nude Recreation is a great source of information, Their site is http://aanr.com And their number is 800-TRY-NUDE.

OF course you can also contact me too as I am the PR Chairperson for AANR. My name is Tom Mulhall at 800-786-6938.

So don't let the media scare you away from trying a nuder vacation, it will be the best one you have ever had!

Bloggers and the media feel free to post this. You do not have to ask my permission.

NBC Nightly news anchor Brian Williams overwhelmed with good news e-mails

Last week, a Wall Street Journal columnist said that this is a media driven recession now. The media's constant doom and gloom with no counter positive news is a major factor in causing people to not invest or buy which further depresses the economy in his opinion. He stated that even with all the unemployment, people saved 5% of their income in January which is a record high since the early '70's. They are saving out of fear.

The columnist then started mentioning companies that were doing well and said if the media fairly reported the news both good and bad, citizens would not be as scared and buy things, banks would start lending again, and we would all live happily ever after.

Well I guess Brian Williams from NBC this week asked readers for good news to counter all the negative news that he reports. He was overwhelmed with positive news.

Here's the story:

"Williams hears viewers' plea for good news
NBC anchor says request for positive stories has hit ‘incredible nerve’

NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams asked viewers to send in their suggestions for good news to lift the recent dreary newscasts, and the response has been overwhelming...

Still, even he was shocked at the thousands of responses he has received in less than two days after asking viewers to suggest some good news to report.

"I'm looking at a stack of printed e-mails," Williams said Friday. "We have more stories than we could humanly cover if we combined all three network newscasts. It's hit an unbelievable nerve."

Williams said he's been hearing it repeatedly from people he meets on the street or viewers who send e-mails: The news is so bad every night that it's a burden to watch. Wrote one viewer: "We all know it's bad, but the news makes us feel like crawling under a rock."

...So he made a plea seconds before the end of NBC's newscast on Wednesday: We're looking for good news...

"It really told me something," he said. "I have learned a lot. I thought I knew all there was about the good nature of Americans, and this was a flood."

... His "good news" idea runs the risk of being cloying, but Williams said a newscast, like a newspaper, has room for a diversity of stories..."

Luckily for us, we have a very loyal customer base. And since we are the only nudist resort in the west that caters to couples on vacation, it seems no one is going to the overpriced hotels in Mexico or the Caribbean anymore and they all want to vacation with us.

We are considered the best value nudist resort in the US, so we are very busy and popular this year.

However, I know we have had cancellations from guests who cancelled because they were afraid of the economy. I know the media's job is to make everything look way worse than what it is because they think that makes people turn on the news. However, if you look at newspapers, you see positive and negative news. Maybe TV news should start doing the same thing and Brian Williams learned.

Now if you want a nice safe, fun vacation where you can forget about all the turmoil in the world, give us The Terra Cotta Inn clothing optional resort and spa.
