Come to our Fun Naked, Nude Years Eve party

It's time to party and to have some fun this New Year's Eve. Don't go to some boring New Year's eve party where you have to wear clothes. You need something fun and different for a change. How about our NUDE Year's Eve party!

Ever been to a clothing optional New Year's eve party before? Our Nude Year's eve party is the best.

Every year, we always sell out. It's so much fun. It's the most fun you can have without your clothes on. We just have a few spaces left for the party if you are staying somewhere else in Palm Springs and only a couple of rooms left if you want to stay at The Terra Cotta Inn.

The party is fantastic. We start by serving you a 5 course sit down dinner. Steak and lobster. All you can eat. Then on to dancing the night away with our favorite DJ.

Come midnight, we have a decadent dessert buffet and champagne toast to ring in the New Year, or is that Nude Year?

As you can see in the above photos, the dress code is clothing optional. Some women dress elegantly in sheer tops, and dresses. Very sexy and chic. Other guests however, prefer to dress in suits. Birthday suits that is. Clothing is never required at our New Year's eve party.

Our party is held in our big event room, aka our very spacious living room, so you will be nice and toasty warm and don't have to worry about wearing clothes.

You'll love our party and our resort.

You can also come just for the party or stay over night. We only have space for just a few couples just for the party, so if you have a home in Palm Springs or are staying at a time share, you can still go to a fun naked New Years eve party.

If you have always wanted to stay at a clothing optional resort, now is the perfect time. Last Year, AOL.com picked us as one of the 10 best clothing optional resorts in the world and the only nudist resort on the west coast that was honored. Also last year, the Vancouver Sun newspaper in Canada picked us as one of the best places in the world to go nude sunbathing. And this month in the December 2009 Best of the Best issue of Palm Springs Life magazine, we were picked as one of the 3 best boutique hotels in ALL the Palm Springs area and the only nude hotel that was honored.

We are also the most mainstream clothing optional resort in the US. We are perfect for couples trying topless or nude sunbathing for the first time. You do not have to be a card carrying nudist to stay here.

Give us a call at 800-786-6938 for more information or to make reservations.

Should nude resorts be clothing optional or nudity mandatory

I thought this was interesting. A nudist resort blog from Canada that says clothing optional policies do not work.

I would never say that their policy of mandatory nudity doesn't work, yet obviously they feel so threatened by successful clothing optional resorts like ours that they have to devote a whole podcast to saying why they feel clothing optional doesn't work.

Now what exactly is a clothing optional resort? Every single nudist place is independently owned and operates in a manner that they think is best for their guests or club members. All I can say is how do we operate our place. There is no 1 definition of clothing optional.

Years ago, there was a research survey for the purpose of advertising to couples to vacation at nudist resorts. Men didn't care whether a place was nudity mandatory or clothing optional. Women however by a large majority said they would go only to clothing optional resorts because they would feel more comfortable at one. Thus, lots of nude places started calling themselves clothing optional to successfully appeal to first timers. And it WORKS!

We operate our resort based on common sense. People come here to go nude sunbathing. Because we have one the highest repeat guest rate of ALL hotels in the US at just over 75%, our repeat guests set the tone for nude sunbathing.

My wife and I are the owners. We work in the nude as we set the tone for nudity. On our blogs there are nude pictures of us showing we are comfortable with nudity. However at many nudity mandatory resorts, management works dressed. Strange!

Not all people especially women want to eat in the nude. Many women feel comfortable lounging nude poolside, but like to wear a cover up when they walk. That is OK. In the winter, in the evenings it gets chilly, so guests cover up. Common sense prevails.

When people call, we screen them. We tell people that our guests come here to topless or nude sunbathe, not to sit around in bathing suits. If they want to sit around in a swim suit, then go to a Marriott. Thus we never get people not at least topless sunbathing.

Our clothing optional philosophy works. We are extremely popular and are the only nudist resort that caters to couples on vacation in the western US. I know if we were nudity mandatory like other places, we would have much lower occupancy rates like them.

Now I don't care what Bare Oaks naturist parks clothing policy is. It is their right to make whatever policy they want.

This reminds me of the arguments that some naturists give that nudists aren't as "pure" as naturists. Who cares. That's why I like it that AANR came up with the term nude recreation to get rid of the silliness in the terminology.

Finally, on nudist forums, I always see lots of men insisting on nudity manditory policies, but I don't remember and younger women starting out in nude recreeation ever insist on manditory nudity.

That blog should not go saying Clothing optional does not work as some of the most successful nudist resorts in the world are clothing optional.
This is from their blog:

"Why Clothing-Optional Does Not Work
Episode VIII

We discuss the many reasons why clothing-optional policies do not work in naturist clubs. Naturism wasn't always so tolerant. In the beginning of the 20th century when naturism started, wearing clothes in a naturist club was not an option. The clothing-optional policy, a well-meaning attempt to be more inclusive and to make it easier for new people, has actually back-fired..."

Now if you are a first timer and want a fun relaxing vacation, our resort, The Terra Cotta Inn clothing optional resort and spa is the perfect place. We ARE the most mainstream nudist resort in America and perfect for couples trying topless and nude sunbathing for the first time. We are ranked by both AOL.com and Tripadvisor.com as one of the 10 best clothing optional resorts in the world.

A Palm Springs nudist resorts occupancy rate is UP in this economy

This is a tough economic climate to be in the hotel business. Sadly so many people have lost money in the stock market or lost their jobs and can't afford to vacations this year.

Now a days, people won't travel anymore just so they can brag to their friends that they vacationed for instance at some overpriced resort in the Caribbean or Mexico like people did a few years ago when the market was up. People now have to really WANT to vacation at resorts. And they want value!

This means most people now vacation only in the US for value. And nudists especially no longer go to the Caribbean or Mexico and stay at the overpriced nude resorts there owned by non nudists. Nudists now all want to stay at our resort, The Terra Cotta Inn in sunny Palm Springs, CA.

We have found that instead of our occupancy rate going down like other nudist resorts and Palm Springs hotels, it has gone up in 2008.

Last year at our resort, The Terra Cotta Inn clothing optional resort and spa, we were up 5.85% in sales. We were told that we were the ONLY established hotel in Palm Springs that had increased sales in 2008.

Now, we have always been the most popular nudist vacation resort in the western US. And have had the 2nd highest occupancy rate of ALL hotels in town (only the Indian casino hotel beat us). I don't write that to brag (although we are very proud of that fact), but most people vacationing at nudist resorts are social and they like to chat with other people. So they need to make sure that potential guests don't make a mistake and book midweek or a week at a time at a nude weekend getaway instead of our resort.

We are the ONLY nudist resort in the western US that is busy 7 days a week, year round instead of just weekends like typical nude places out west.

Sadly here in Palm Springs, hotel occupancy and sales are down. Here is the story from our local newspaper, the Desert Sun.

"Palm Springs hotel taxes down 18 percent

The city of Palm Springs' hotel taxes were down 18 percent in January, according to a monthly analysis provided by the city...

In December, hotel taxes were down 20 percent and in November, they were down nearly 18 percent."

So if you are coming to Palm Springs midweek or for a week or longer, we are the perfect clothing optional resort for you to go nude sunbathing at. If you are coming for just a Saturday night because you don't have any vacation days left at work, then there are other weekend nude places for you to stay at and we will be happy to make referral.

Next year when you have more vacation time off of work, and want a fun vacation, we are the perfect resort for you.

Give us a call at 800-786-6938 to make reservations or for availability.

Penthouse Magazine may bring nude casino dealers to Las Vegas

Las Vegas knows that bare skin sells. Anyone who has been to Vegas knows there are lots of nude gentlemen's clubs n that town. A couple of years ago, Las Vegas started to have topless swimming pools which they call European style sunbathing pools.

This fall the Rio hotel announced that they were going to partner with a gentlemen's club to have topless strippers at their topless pool. Other hotels unofficially had strippers use their topless pools.

I guess the next step would be to have nude dealers at a casino.

Here's the story:

"Penthouse, the adult magazine may soon become Penthouse, the casino...

The casino would be based on the Penthouse brand and that would mean nudity would be involved. To what extent that would happen is yet unknown.

Whether or not the Nevada Gaming Commission would even allow for nudity on the casino floor is an issue all in itself...

"It's about rethinking the way of how people think of casinos in Las Vegas, coming in with a new paradigm. Everyone tries doing the cookie cutters, doing the same thing over and over again, and we believe it's time to create a new widget," said Bell.

The women in Penthouse magazine could well serve as dealers at the new casino. They would be dressed down, and maybe even be completely nude...

"I think it would be great for something like that to happen in Las Vegas. The current casinos are getting stale and it is time for something new, something fresh, that people can grasp on to," said Las Vegas resident Tim Joyer."

For the full story click here

Some of the topless pools in Las Vegas are pretty sleazy and packed with men. I have always contended that one of the biggest threats to legitimate nude recreation is when non nudist run businesses get into the nudity business like the topless pools in Vegas. In my opinion, that turns off more women from ever trying topless or nude sunbathing as they will think the whole idea of nude resorts is for women to bare their breasts for guys to ogle. They won't even think topless or nude sunbathing is for women older than 30.

So if you have always wanted to try topless or nude sunbathing in a safe environment, give us The Terra Cotta Inn clothing optional resort a call at 800-786-6938.

15% of Americans have vacationed at a clothing optional resort

Tripadvisor.com is the most popular online travel network in the world.

This July, they came out with their list of the 10 best clothing optional resorts in the world. Only 2 nude resorts in the US were honored. We were one of them.

This comes on top of Canada.com picking us this March as one of the best places in the world to go nude sunbathing and AOL.com last year picking us as one of the 10 best clothing optional resorts in the world.

We are the only clothing optional resort in the whole western US that caters to couples on vacation. We are unique, this means we are busy 7 days a week instead of just weekends like everyone else.

Last year a nudist resort owner paid us the biggest compliment we have ever heard. He said we have probably convinced more couples to try a nude vacation than anyone other nudist resort. We were pleased to hear that considering we are a 17 room inn.

Anyway Tripadvisor came out with their annual travel survey of Americans. Here is one of their findings:

"Fifteen percent of respondents have been to a clothing-optional or adults-only resort."

This year has been our best year in our business. We have found that everyone is cancelling their Caribbean, Hawaiian, And European vacations to save money, and they are flying to sunny Palm Springs to stay with us instead. Our resort, The Terra Cotta Inn clothing optional resort and spa is considered the best value nudist resort in the US.

If you have always wanted to try topless or nude sunbathing, give us a call at 800-786-6938. Visit our site at http://sunnyfun.com
