The Terra Cotta Inn is the BEST nudist resort in America for first timers

Nudists all know we are the BEST nudist resort in the United States for first timers. Even our local newspaper, the Desert Sun reported we are the most mainstream nudist resort in American and perfect for couples trying topless or nude sunbathing for the first time. But, not all first timers know this.

I just read a review of our resort from a couple that has been to many nudist resorts. This is what he wrote:

"...The wife, my wife, not just any wife, did have a blast playing tug-a-war with Jude. She, Jude, really is a cute puppy.

One observation that I made while at Terra Cotta Inn, ... was that there does appear to have been a slight shift in the demographic. It seemed like there were more young adults around the pool than I remember seeing in prior visits...I prefer to think that the whole Nakation idea is catching on. We can only hope.

A couple of more notes about Terra Cotta Inn. This especially goes out to first timers... If you're thinking of that nude beach in Hawaii, Jamaica, Florida, etc, as a place to introduce your reluctant, nervous, unsure, wife to nude sunbathing, social nudism, or any other variation of the theme that doesn't involve being ogled, leered at, or surreptitiously photographed... STOP THINKING NOW! You're obviously not very good at it. If at all possible, Terra Cotta Inn is the sort of place you need to take her too if you expect to have a rat's chance in the crazy cat lady's house of ever having her say let's go back. Unless, of course, she's into being ogled, leered at, surreptitiously photographed, etc. Once off the beach, some clubs, while not open to the public spectacle that ruins many nude beaches and first experiences, are pretty serious about concepts such as nude, clothes free, nudist, etc. If she's at all spooked by the idea of being nude amongst strangers, a clothing optional resort like Terra Cotta Inn is the perfect choice for a first visit..."

Well we thank him for his honest opinions. Still, every week we get calls and e-mails from people who took their wife or girlfriend to a nude beach or another nudist resort for her first experience and she hated it. And he now wants to know how to convince her to try our place. Rarely will she try it as in her mind all nude places are the same which is not true. Go as our guest wrote, if you go to a wrong place, good luck getting her to try it again.

Nudist Resorts are the Best for your first time Nude Sunbathing Experience in the US

Every week, we will get one or more e-mails or phones call from guys saying they made a mistake by taking their wife or girlfriend to an unofficial nude beach. She hated the experience because of all the creepy single men at the nude beach and now she will never try nude sunbathing again. Then they ask for our advice on how to get their wife or girlfriend to vacation at our resort.

Most of the time, it is too late at that point because in the woman's mind all naked places, nude beaches, nudist resorts, nudist campgrounds, etc are all the same. We explain that he should tell her that just like in the real world there are major differences in accommodations like state parks, private campgrounds, Motel 6's and Ritz Carlton's, the same is true of nudism.

Here's a post I just read on a nudist forum:
"Ha ha, well I can just about see her point. I actually had the EX at the beach a couple of times. But I guess they were two bad times to be there because she caught guys going at it both trips. I tried hard to explain to her that was not a normal thing, but she had already made up her mind." The conclusion was she has never gone anywhere nude again.

The best thing is go to a nice nudist resort first. Your first experience is so important. If a woman has a bad meal at a restaurant, she doesn't stop going to restaurants, she just stops eating at that particular one or chain. That's not true of nude recreation. If the first experience is bad, odds are a woman will NEVER try nude sunbathing with others again.

Now one exception is legal nude beaches in the US like Haulover Beach, Sandy Hook, and Rooster Rock. They have lifeguards so they are like regular beaches, just every one gets better tans. Those beaches are OK of a first experience. And most European nude beaches are fine too as they have a much more mature attitude towards nudism than most Americans do.

Because of the importance of your first experience, we have first timers from around the world fly here to our resort, the Terra Cotta Inn, Palm Springs, CA. They then of course become our repeat guests.

Dear Naturist,

This is an Action Alert from the Naturist Action Committee. NAC is asking for your immediate involvement in an effort to have the State of California create officially designated areas for clothing-optional recreation in state parks.

CALIFORNIA STATE PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION
The California State Park and Recreation Commission is NOT the same thing as the State Parks and Recreation Department. The Commission has specific authorities and responsibilities which are defined in California law. Those include the approval of general plans for units of the State Park System, classifying units of the System, establishing general policies for the guidance of the Director of State Parks in the administration, protection and development of the System, and recommending to the Director a comprehensive recreation policy for the state.

As allowed by law, NAC and its allies have submitted a petition asking that portions of specified state parks be set aside for clothing-optional recreation. The State Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) has simply ignored the properly submitted petition.

Meanwhile, since DPR has chosen to make selective termination of the longstanding Cahill Policy, there is presently no statewide or comprehensive policy that addresses the responsible nude use of portions of state park units.

NAC is looking for the State Park bureaucracy to assert some leadership. The Commission has the authority and the responsibility to establish general policy and to recommend policy to DPR, and that’s what NAC is seeking.

ACTION 1: ATTEND COMMISSION’S PUBLIC MEETING ON DECEMBER 10
If you’re in the southern California area, NAC requests that you attend a public meeting of the State Park and Recreation Commission that is scheduled to be held in San Diego on Friday, December 10, 2010.

While all are encouraged to make their voices heard, the participation of Californians is, of course, particularly important.

WHAT SHOULD YOU SAY?

When you write:

a) Be polite.

b) Be known. Give your name and address. If you are a California resident or a frequent visitor to California, be sure to point that out. Anonymous letters have very little impact.

c) Be focused. Keep your correspondence brief and on target.

d) Be positive. Remember that we’re trying to ENCOURAGE the Parks Department to do something. Please do not take a scolding tone.

e) Be clear. Say that you SUPPORT the petition asking for designation of clothing-optional areas in units of the State Park System.

Additional writing points:

a) This is NOT just about San Onofre State Beach. Although that beach was the first State Park unit at which DPR has killed its policy for managing clothing-optional recreation, it will not be the last. The present lack of a comprehensive statewide policy threatens ALL clothing-optional areas in California State Park units. Consider the implications for Black’s (Torrey Pines), Gaviota, Bonny Doon and many others.

b) For thirty years, the Department’s Cahill Policy allowed a means to manage for clothing-optional recreation in units of the State Park system. The nullification of the Cahill Policy has left the department with no statewide policy to address a form of recreation that’s obviously popular with the public. The submitted petition proposes a specific way to address the management of clothing-optional recreation.

c) Officials of the Parks and Rec Department have pointed to lewd behavior as a reason for prohibiting nudity. In doing so, they have confused simple nudity with lewd behavior. Rangers presently have the authority and responsibility to stop lewd activity, and naturists encourage them to exercise that responsibility appropriately. However, that specific authority is separate and different from the legal authority the Parks Department has to establish areas for clothing-optional recreation.

Should women be allowed to go topless on California Beaches- Take the KTLA TV Poll

America is way behind Europe in giving women the legal right to go topless sunbathing on beaches. There are NO LEGAL topless or nude beaches in California. There are many that have been unofficially nude for years.

Yet, like we have seen with San Onofre beach, if a government bureaucrat has their own personal body issues and is uncomfortable with topless or nude beaches, they will impose their own will on the citizens of California, contrary to the wishes of the populace and waste millions of taxpayers dollars to see that their repressive agenda of shutting down a nude beach is achieved.

This Sunday, August 22nd is National Go Topless Day. It will be celebrated in 9 cities all over America. In honor of this day, KTLA in Los Angeles, the local CW network has a poll"

Many businesses like nudism need to attract younger customers

AANR, the American Association for Nude Recreation realizes for nudism to grow, it will have to reach out and attract guests in their 20's and 30's.

Here at Terra Cotta Inn, Palm Springs, California we are one of the few nudist resorts that caters to all ages from the 20's to 80's. Because we are a vacation resort and not just a weekend get away like most nudist resorts, we have all age groups come here for their vacations. Plus since we are the best value nudist vacation in the US, it also encourages all ages.

Now I have heard from people that nudism is dying off as some old nudist campgrounds and clubs are closing. That is so untrue. Here in Palm Springs, we still have one of the highest occupancy rates of ALL hotels in town. Haulover nude beach is the most popular beach in Florida.

Just like in any industry, consumers vote with their wallets. Those places people don't want to go to struggle and then go out of business. Those places people like, thrive. We still are averaging an 80% repeat guest rate which is one of the highest in the whole travel industry and are the most popular clothing optional vacation resort in Palm Springs and the western US.

Our younger employees like Patty our manager and Norma (both of whom are in their 20's) realize that to attract younger guests, you have to show younger people in your advertising too. They have both allowed us to photograph them to help promote our resort to younger guests.

Now nude recreation is not the only industry that realizes that you have to reach out to younger customers. Just this week in USA Today newspaper on May 12th, there was an article about the Preakness horse race saying how horse racing is falling out of favor with younger people. The title of the article was called "To attract young crowd, ad campaign gets a bit freaky."

The article said the attendance dropped from 100,000 to 78,850 last year and the horse race was not getting younger fans. It said "the Jockey Club and racing have been criticized for many years that their advertising and marketing campaigns are same old, same old, nothing exciting."

The article continues "the other thing we've been criticized for is when we do market, we don't target a younger demographic. In looking at this campaign, we basically wanted to target 21-to-35 year olds. So we had to speak their language." They have "received scant protest - a phone call and two e-mails - saying the campaign is 'too edgy, too risque.'"

The whole idea here is you don't abandon your bread and butter, the baby boomers as 1 out of every 3 Americans above age 21 is a baby boomer. You keep them by excellent customer service. However, you have to start attracting younger people to enjoy nude recreation for the future.

Nudism has to change as customers change if it want to be viable in the future.

Not only is San Onofre one of the last undeveloped areas of the coastline, but the remoteness, combined with the fact that there is no pass-through beach traffic - since the clothing optional area dead ends at Camp Pendleton Military Base - makes it unique among all the other beaches along that stretch of coast. San Onofre is simply THE best place to have a clothing optional beach in southern California.

New Zealand policewoman cites naked cyclists for not wearing helmets

So many times people in a position of power do not use common sense when it comes to nudity. A perfect example is the current director of the California Parks department who does not like nudity so she made nude sunbathing illegal at the popular San Onofre nude beach in California after over 30 years of use.

Here a new Zealand policewoman used common sense when dealing with naked bicyclists. She told them they needed to wear helmets.

Here's the story:

"NZ policewoman allows naked cycling - with helmet

Freedom-seekers in New Zealand must still wear protective gear

Two young men caught cycling with no clothes on have escaped charges of offensive behaviour, but received a warning to wear protective head gear.

Local policewoman Cathy Duder was unfazed when she came across the two nude men, both in their early twenties.

"They were more shocked than I was, trying to cover up their bits and pieces with their hands," she said...

When asked for an explanation, the pair replied that "they wanted to experience total freedom"...

"And I said to them 'the way you're heading, you're going to experience total confinement'," the officer said, laughing...

Ms Duder issued them with a stern warning for not wearing helmets and then sent them directly home...

Public nudity can attract a charge of offensive behaviour in New Zealand, but Ms Duder said she let the two men go free.

"It was dark and there was no-one else around. They were jovial young men who had not intended to cause offence," she said.

97% of Taxpayers say It was a big waste of money for state to fight San Onofre nude beach

One truism about politics is taxpayers usually have much more common sense then appointed government workers who normally just feed off of the taxpayers backs.

Last year a California parks department director got a bee in her bonnet because San Onofre nude beach was very popular (it had been used as a nude beach for over 30 years) and she wanted it to be shut down. She said thee was high crime there. It was determined that there were 150 documented complaints in a 10 year period or one every 24 days. Plus, the crimes were mainly in the parking lot and not by nudists. Too bad they didn't compare the crime statistics to textile beaches. I bet textile beaches have more complaints filed.

The Orange County register newspaper on 5/30/08 had a poll:

The state should shut it down 287 votes
I'll be heading down to take my clothes off 2854 votes
Doesn't bother me, but I wouldn't do it 535 votes
I've nude sunbathed in Europe, but would hesitate in the U.S. 91 votes

However, the California state parks department went ahead and wasted $42,000 of taxpayers money getting the San Onofre nude beach shut down. they completely ignored the wishes and desires of the citizens as seen in that poll.

So the Orange Country Register this Nov 25th, 2009 conducted another poll asking readers was it worth wasting (oops they said spending) $42,000 on this fight to shut down the beach. Do you know what? Taxpayers again show common sense. 97% said NO!

Looks like nude beaches will be OK in California (except San Onofre)

According to the Orange County Register newspaper today, it appears that even with the state Supreme Court striking down the Cahill policy which allowed people to nude sunbathe on certain beaches in California without fear of being cited. That is great news for nudists. Nudist may have lost the use of San Onofre nude beach, but at least it appears at this point in time there will be no enforcement by park rangers where nude sunbathers would be ticketed.

Here's the quote:

"The obliteration of the Cahill Policy essentially means that park rangers no longer need to receive a private citizen complaint before citing someone for nudity at any state beach up and down the California coastline.

Even with the new state-wide ramifications, department officials have said they have no intent of doing proactive enforcement at other traditionally nudist state beaches along the coastline."

Travelers tend to enjoy ultimate freedom on the road, though jumping the psychological hurdle of experiencing nude beaches can remain a challenge...

..I come from a family where modesty was a virtue, and was shocked when I moved to the Netherlands and found an open approach to public nudity. (I once saw a naked man in Amsterdam, riding his bike to work).

I felt outraged and insulted.

“Never, never in my life will I be naked in public,” I told myself. However, since then, some things have changed.

I became a nudist. My current boyfriend happens to be a nudist and on our first holiday he introduced me to the joy of being naked on the beach.

And I rather liked it.

Being naked on the beach gives you the feeling of being free and in union with nature. And it is rather natural, considering that humans only started to wear clothes 72,000 years ago. For more than half of our existence we have been nudists.

What I noticed at the nudist beaches is that people come in all shapes and forms, and rarely do they resemble Kate Moss. However, being natural with nature is not that easy nowadays. It is still a controversial issue. Some regard public nudity as exhibitionism. Others say that nudity sets a bad example for the children. In most states of the US, for a woman to be topless can result in a fine.

Woman are paradoxically bombarded by glossy magazines with pictures which depict thin, beautiful and mostly naked women. Even if you would like to be a nudist, you might avoid going to a nudist beach for the reason that your body doesn’t correspond to the beauty standard.

But curiously enough, what I noticed at the nudist beaches is that people there in all shapes and forms, and rarely do they resemble Kate Moss. It can be indeed a liberating experience, especially if you have some confidence issues.

I started my nudist experience when I considered myself slightly overweight, and it helped me to realize that human body is beautiful as it is. And I certainly recommend everyone try it at least once.

Dear Naturist,

This is an advisory from the Naturist Action Committee (NAC) concerning an important situation in the state of California.

Responding to a request from legal counsel for the California Department of Parks & Recreation (DPR), the California Court of Appeal for the 4th District has published the previously unpublished ruling it rendered last month in the San Onofre State Beach case. The recent appellate ruling overturned a 2008 Superior Court victory by the Naturist Action Committee and Friends of San Onofre Beach, a local naturist group.

At issue is whether DPR has followed proper procedure in abruptly ending the application of the Cahill/Harrison regulation at San Onofre State Beach. Cahill/Harrison is long-standing and well-known means for managing and regulating the clothing-optional use of portions of state parks.

The unpublished ruling applied only to San Onofre State Beach. However, publication gives the ruling greater precedential effect and allows the possibility that rangers may ignore the Cahill policy and may begin issuing citations for nudity at other state parks under Title 14, Section 4322 of the California Code of Regulations.

CAHILL

It has been suggested by some that the Cahill Policy has remained in effect throughout the years entirely through the good will of the California Parks Department. If that has been so, then the good will ended in May, 2008, when Parks Director Ruth Coleman singled out San Onofre State Beach and said, "Cahill does not apply there."

From that moment, the Cahill Policy became badly damaged goods. If it could be terminated abruptly and without appropriate process or public involvement at one state park, then it could happen at any state park, at any time. So much for good will.

Trusting the good will of public officials for something as important as protection from arrest for benign behavior has never been an intelligent choice. Relying on that same promise of good will after the trust has been publicly and intentionally broken is simply folly.

CHOICES

Confronted with the crippling damage dealt to the Cahill Policy at San Onofre, the Naturist Action Committee faced a basic choice. It could accept the loss of San Onofre, it could negotiate, or it could fight.

When the Parks Department refused to negotiate, NAC chose to fight.

NAC did not, and does not, look on the Cahill/Harrison regulation as a matter of good will. It’s a regulation, and it has been used exactly as regulation by each successive administration of the California Parks Department for THIRTY YEARS.

The Superior Court accepted NAC's contention that Cahill/Harrison is a regulation. The Court of Appeal recognized it as a regulation, too, though its different view concerning quality and extent were what allowed the reversal of the Superior Court’s procedural requirements for undoing the regulation.

NAC's legal challenge to DPR’s arbitrary destruction of Cahill at San Onofre did not cripple Cahill. That damage quite clearly had already been inflicted. Trusting "good will" while waiting for the next shoe to drop will NOT restore the damaged Cahill Policy. And at NO point has it EVER been true that accepting the loss of San Onofre will somehow inoculate naturists against the similar loss of another California beach or another California state park.

TICKETS?

DPR spokespersons have given conflicting information. One predicted that the Department would "tread lightly" on the matter of citations for nudity in state parks. Referring to San Onofre, another has said that no action was planned until at least after Labor Day. The truth is that there's really no way to know for sure.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Later this week, the Naturist Action Committee will file its petition to have the case heard by the California Supreme Court.

NAC will continue to issue Action Alerts, Advisories and Updates on this issue as circumstances require. Look for them.

Alicia Silverstone enjoys swimming nude and gardening nude, but doesn't consider herself a nudist

Key West - No on nude beach referendum

The Key West City Commissioners wimped out and voted NO for putting a nude beach referendum on their ballot.

...Key West City Commissioners unanimously killed the item at Tuesday's meeting.

Commissioners said the lack of a specific site raised too many questions, calling it premature to begin the process of changing land-use rules to allow for designated "naturist" areas...

... "I actually do support the naturists in their quest to find a place where they can go in comfort, but we have an obligation both to the naturists and to those who don't want to be -- excuse the pun -- exposed to it."

Interim Commissioner Joe Pais, who is filling out the term of Dan Kolhage, reminded commissioners of the long-gone businesses like Naked Lunch and Atlantic Shores and said that naturism may not be the economic draw supporters portray.

"They [the aforementioned businesses] failed. The thousands of people that are going to be here, they're not going to be here," Pais said. "We're not going to trade our businesses for businesses that have already failed"...

City staff is working with commissioners to set up public workshops to discuss the idea of designated naturist beaches. For more information, go to www.kwfb.org .

There are some interesting observations made in this story. Commissioner Joe Pais said because 2 nude businesses in Key west failed, a nude beach there would not be successful.

Yet, they ignore the fact that Haulover Beach, in Miami Florida is Miami's most popular nude beach.

Further, if they were to look to our town, Palm Springs, California as an example they would see that in the 15 years that we have been open, 14 nudist places have opened and gone out of business. Most of them were foreclosed upon or filed bankruptcy. Yet, at the same time our resort, The Terra Cotta Inn has the 2nd highest occupancy rate of ALL hotels in Palm Springs.

So their argument that just because Atlantic Shores went out of business (it was poorly run), a nude beach would not be successful is not true. Well run nudist businesses succeed. Poorly run ones go out of business.

Now of course if they analyzed that Key West is one of the rainiest cities in the US and nudists LOVE sunshine, and it would be very hard to convince nudists to go to one of the rainiest cities in America, that would be a valid argument.

State of Alabama bans wine label showing famous 1895 poster of a nymph and bicycle

Americans think we live in the "land of the free. Think again where nudity is involved.

Here in California, San Onofre nude beach had been a well run nude beach for around 40 years. A previous California Parks Department head came up with the Cahill policy (named after him) and the nude beaches of California were ran smoothly.

In came a new head of the parks department who had a bee in her bonnet (or up a certain part of her anatomy) about nudity and wanted to shut down San Onofre beach last year. Nudists went to court and won at the local level. They then lost at the court of appeals. Now nudists are going to appeal the ruling to the state Supreme Court.

The reason the Michigan liquor board banned it was the geniuses that run the Michigan Liquor control commission determined that the label may be "detrimental to your health" and thus needed to be banned. Now the beer inside the bottle was not considered detrimental. What is detrimental however is the thought that adults might enjoy themselves at a nude beach drinking beer.

A wine with a label featuring the poster has been banned from sale in Alabama because it features a person "posed in an immodest or sensuous manner. Alabama's Alcoholic Beverage Control Board wants the Cycles Gladiator wine from California out of state stores and off their shelves because its label includes a small nude nymph...
Alabama's alcohol regulators are reminding stores in a warning notice that the beverage board last year ruled the label inappropriate, according to the newspaper.

Many people commented on this story (120 people in less then 12 hours), almost all against the intrusion of "big brother." Many people rightly pointed out that this ban makes Alabama a laughing stock and looking like it's run by hicks. Sorry, it doesn't just make Alabama look bad, it makes all Americans look bad too.

America has a major problem with appointed politicians imposing their own personal agendas, versus doing what is right. And more and more our rights are being flushed away. we need to get a control over this political hacks before it is too late if it isn't already.

Wreck Beach one of Top nude Beaches in the World

Last year, tripadvisor.com came out with their top 10 clothing optional resorts of the world. We were one of the resorts recommended. Pretty cool.

This year, tripadvisor came put with the 5 best nude beaches of the world. Wreck Beach in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada was named one of the top 5.

With Palm Springs being the sunniest city in the US, we have a lot of Canadians that vacation with us. Year round about 15% of our guests come from Canada. They all love Wreck Beach.

Now a Seattle columnist writes "where is Seattle's?

Here's the story:

"Vancouver has top nude beach. Where is Seattle's?
It's a particularly hot Seattle summer.

Good thing a top nude beach is just up the road.

Wreck Beach in Vancouver, B.C., has been named one of the top five nude beaches in the world by TripAdvisor, which also rated the World Naked Bike Ride -- which happened July 11 in Seattle -- as one of the world's top nude events.

Where are Seattle's nude beaches? Nowhere yet. At least, not officially.

Local "naturist" Daniel Johnson led a campaign last spring to get the city's parks department to establish clothing-optional beaches where people already sunbathe nude with limited success...

Spots at Magnuson Beach, the Arboretum and Discovery Park have been prime spots for naturists..."

Nude Beach goers at San Onofre to get tickets after labor Day

So much for people thinking we live in a democracy here in California.

San Onofre nude beach has been a nude beach for almost 50 years. Then last year a dictator of "moral values" took over as the head (but obviously not brains) of the states Parks department. Obviously she has major issues with nudity and people enjoying themselves while nude sunbathing.

She declared San Onofre Nude Beach illegal to go nude sunbathing. Naturists sued. They won in the lower courts, but lost in the court of appeals. Now they are deciding whether to appeal to the California Supreme Court.

This is a very popular nude beach. It is the most popular one at the San Onofre area. In a poll that was on the San Clemente Times website (before the results were taken down) it was over 80% of people were in favor of the nude beach.

So much for us being a democracy. It's sad here in America that one nasty politician with power can undo 50 years of public use of a nude beach.

Here is the story:

"Bare beach goers at Trail 6 in San Onofre State Beach will get away with a warning through the summer.

State officials said they plan to educate the public at the traditionally clothing-optional beach about the new ban -- posting signs and verbally warning state park visitors through Labor Day weekend.

"After that time, appropriate enforcement action will be taken including citation and arrest if necessary," said Ken Kramer, district superintendent of the Orange Coast District. The citation fine is unclear because it's ultimately determined by the courts, Kramer said.

At the same time, a group of nudists who want to keep it clothing-optional at the 1,000-foot stretch of beach are considering appealing their case to the state's Supreme Court after they lost the latest legal wrangling...

"Apparently, they are happy to collect the significant revenue Trail 6 generates in day use fees," Baylis said of the citation delay...

Their decision overturned a lower court's decision in which an Orange County Superior Court judge ruled that the Cahill Policy is indeed a regulation and that state Department of Parks and Recreation violated procedure when they adopted a nudity ban without first seeking public feedback...

It will be sad if it closes. We have many guests from the midwest and east coast come out here in the summer and spend Sunday nights thru Friday nights at our resort in Palm Springs and go to San Onofre on Saturday and Sunday to go nude sunbathing at the beach, so they can have a beach experience. Now they won't suffer as they will just spend the whole week at our resort, but there staying there I'm sure brought in a lot of revenue to that area as the nude beach is the post popular beach in that whole state park.

Too bad the idiots at the state Parks department don't open their eyes to see how Haulover Beach became the most popular beach in Miami because it is a nude beach. They could also look to Palm Springs where they would see that our nude resort, The Terra Cotta Inn has had the highest occupancy rate of ALL hotels in Palm Springs in the summertime for over the last 10 years.

One of the reasons why topless bikinis are popular in Europe

A transplanted New Yorker writes about her experiences at a nude beach in Europe where she lives and why she prefers topless sunbathing.

"... ‘’La gente esta en pelotas,’’ were the first words out of my boyfriend’s mouth when he realized que estamos en una playa nudista (we were at a nude beach).

Neither of us cared but a warning would have been nice. I have seen and visited nude beaches before. I am not far from being nude myself when I go to the beach enjoying the European custom of going topless...

In the end it was like any other day at the beach... i also came to a few conclusions:

1. I prefer my man keep his package under wraps and only bare his paler bum to me.

2. Sand near my baby-making parts sounds rough

3. It is a pity to go stark naked when there so many fabulous options for beachwear."

She made 2 observations. One, she was taken to a nude beach and didn't know in advance.

We have men from time to time call saying they want to surprise their wife/girlfriend by booking our resort. Bad move. Women NEVER want to be surprised by going to a nudist resort or nude beach. They want to know and to voice their own opinion to their boyfriend/spouse.

The other comment she made is "so many fabulous options for beachwear." Younger European women are just as susceptible to the clothing industries advertising as American women are.

We have many European guests stay with us and they say a lot of younger women in Europe these days will only go topless sunbathing not nude sunbathing as they want to make a "fashion statement" with their bottoms.

They don't wear bottoms due to modesty. They may wearing thong bikinis that cover as much as dental floss would at the beach, yet that small strip of fabric costing maybe $90 is a fashion statement for them.

Once the women mature into their 30's, then they start going nude sunbathing.

Vote for nude sunbathing at San Onofre Nude Beach

As I have already mentioned, the California courts just rejected nudists attempts to keep San Onofre Beach, a nude beach, even though it has been in nude use for over 40 years.

Obviously, California has so much money that they can waste hundreds of thousands of dollars to litigate this. Further, San Onofre nude beach is the most inconvenient beach to go to (that's why it's a nude beach.) If it became a prude beach, no one would go to it and the state would miss out on lots of parking revenue.

San Onofre beach is right down the road by the town of San Clemente. The local paper there just printed a survey:

"Should nude bathing be allowed at a remote beach at San Onofre State Beach?"

Nude Beach Beer banned in Michigan

In my previous post I mentioned how most government officials are boobs. Well this post proves it.

The geniuses that run the Michigan Liquor control commission has determined that the above label may be detrimental to your health and thus needs to be banned.

Now I don't know about you, but I have never heard of anyone getting a DUI for looking at a beer label. Or for that matter becoming an alcoholic.

Here's the story:

"Banned in Michigan: This nude beer label could be 'detrimental to your health'

You can buy it on draft but don't expect to see Stevens Point Brewery's Point Nude Beach Summer Wheat beer in a bottle anytime soon in Michigan.

The label, which features a nude-beach scene with a cleverly placed beach towel and other summer-themed toys has been deemed "detrimental to the health, safety, or welfare of the general public" by Michigan's Liquor Control Commission...

Aside form attracting lots of attention, it also earned a silver medal in the Beverage Testing Institute's 2008 World Beer Championships.

Sunny Palm Springs, California has no June Gloom

Many people always lump Palm Springs in with Southern California when they think about weather. People think Palm Springs, Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego all have the same weather.

They couldn't be more wrong.

For instance today they are predicting San Diego which is where Black's Beach nude beach is located to be mostly cloudy and a high of only 70F. Palm Springs is 100% sunny and predicted to have a high of 98F and low humidity. Perfect nude sunbathing weather.

The reason I bring this up is a couple who is checking in today called this morning wanting to cancel their reservation this week. They said they had been in San Diego over the weekend and were so disappointed because it had drizzled there and was cool. They couldn't go to the nude beach. Naturally, we were 100% sunny over the weekend.

When we told them we were 100% sunny and a high of 98F today they couldn't believe it as Palm Springs is only 2 1/2 hours away from San Diego. But, yet our weather is completely different than the rest of southern California as Palm Springs is the sunniest city in the US.

We average less then 3 inches of rain a year. The reason we are so sunny is we have a 10,800 foot mountain chain separating us from the Pacific ocean. So we don't have any of the ocean clouds or rain.

There is an expression in Southern California called June gloom. In the month of June it is normally cloudy until late afternoon along the beaches in California.

Some come on out to sunny palm Springs and enjoy the warm sunshine! No June Gloom here!
